2025 Charlotte Softball πŸ₯Ž

I don’t know if there was any momentum to hold on to. When you lose your entire coaching staff and all but 6 players, it is almost like you have to start from scratch.

I think we’ve put together a decent roster in the short time we had to do so, but it is mostly young and inexperienced, especially on the pitching side. There were 5 freshman/sophomores in the starting lineup this past weekend. In the circle, our most experienced pitcher, Brooke Bowling made her first career start. There were 2 freshman behind her that pitched the most this weekend.

We are throwing them into the fire with this OOC schedule, but I believe that it will only make us better in the long run. We just have to hope it doesn’t kill anyone’s confidence.

I agree wholeheartedly agree that the pressure from this OOC will create diamonds. I’m saying momentum of the brand of Charlotte. We’re finally entering the national spotlight and I worry it’ll all be losses. In which case, next year will be back to weak schedules

This upcoming part of the schedule was designed for a team that no longer exists. Judge results accordingly.

There will be a substantial talent gap this weekend. Let’s just hope we get some young or non rotational opposing pitchers, so we can stay in the games.

Still glad we didn’t back out of the tournament, Keeping out certain unnamed teams who would love to take our spot is some measure of satisfaction.

Man, this roster is lacking in all areas.

We just don’t make the plays that a good team makes. I saw this in fall ball and I saw it today. There is plenty of room for some good players to come here and play, though

Rebuild year but liberty is good and our OOC is tough

The ladies just beat themselves in this game. Lack of fundamentals and several errors were costly. Should be better by conference time but lots of holes needs to be filled in next year’s recruiting

UCLA run ruled the ladies 10-0 in 5 innings.

Errors beat us in the first game and had three errors in the second (even though they didn’t beat us), these errors have to be addressed in practice

Yeah. We had that Liberty game but gave it away on sloppy defense. Sounds like cleaning up the defense will continue to be a focal point.

β€œThe results weren’t what we wanted today, but we had the opportunity to play some great teams, see great pitching, see some great hitters,” Breault said. β€œIt’s only going to make us better in the long run. I just want us to focus on cleaning up the defense, and if we can shore some things up there, I think we’ll start seeing some more positive results.”

Fielding will get cleaned up with experience. Most of these ladies have had little field time. I would be more concerned; half the hits came from two individuals. Need more production at the plate.

Ladies letting errors kill them even though leading over Auburn 7-5 in the 3rd inning

Well, that didn’t last long. Down 7-10 in 4th. Lack of pitching experience showing for us
