Ladies lose to Wichita State 7-3.
Never in the game. Ritchie 3 run blast really the only bright spot. Pitching continues to struggle.
That was a wild game and got scary in the bottom of the 7th. Even with a large lead, I never felt comfortable. I have no idea who we pitch tomorrow. Well actually, Brook will start, but no idea how long she will last.
I’d imagine the Shockers are pretty much in the same situation.

Shocker baseball playing at home in the ninth inning. Softball in a weather delay. I guess we aren’t the only ones who do crazy stuff like that.

Bad game for us. Worse for them. UAB, by the way.
My bad on team played and corrected. It was not a well-played game by either team. Best thing I saw was that we used the bunt a couple times to advance runners and had not seen much of this before.
Ladies defeat UAB 2-1. Shamblin tosses a 2 hitter. All 3 runs by both teams came by way of solo homers.

Shamblin was excellent in the circle and Nguyen made the defensive play of the game in the 7th.

Eastern took down NT. A win tomorrow would guarantee the 3 seed, correct?
Yes. Or a second loss today for UNT. That seems unlikely, though, as they have a 4-0 lead in the second game of their double dip in Greenville.
ECU sweeps UNT! Wins final game 8-7. That gives us the 3rd seed regardless of our outcome in tomorrow’s game!

Except for the bottom two seeds, the tournament is set. If ECU wins their opening game, we will play them in the quarterfinals. Winner of that game plays in semifinals against homestanding South Florida, Winner of that plays in final game, likely against Florida Atlantic. Tournament is heavily skewed to favor the top two seeds.
All that aside, our team has done a remarkable job emerging from the smoking ruins of the coaching change.
