Needs to be stated, if Lutz gets HC gig, we can still have to pay him. If itâs less than what we owe, we pay the difference.
Do we have the worst lawyers in the world, or did Lutz have the best? What a terrible contract from the schoolâs side for a coach that wasnât even a hot commodity.

Pretty sure it is common to have to pay out the remainder of salary after firing a coach. Rutgers owes Rice more than $1 million and he was fired for physically harming his players.
For Godâs sake, can we just get a count-down clock set up to show how much longer he has to be paid by us? I want to look forward to the end of this. ???

Good. I hope to hell we NEVER do anything like this again. What a WASTE of scarce program money (that WE helped provide). >:(
355 days and counting. >:(
And weâre not any better off
:o
Nope, not trending in the right direction at all⌠???

Next year will tell us if we are trending the right direction. The program we have before us is basically the program we had when Bobby was fired. I get the rebuild and what not, but what we have achieved thus far is simply a return to the level we were previously. All Duq had to do was hit FTs and we wouldnât have even made the conf tourny and thus prob not the NIT. So I am not so quick to buy into the idea that we are on the right path. Next year is HUGE for the overall direction of the program as it will be a clear indication of either yes we are moving in the right direction or no we arenât.

Iâm not satisfied with where we are, but I definitely think we exceeded expectations coming into the year. The hypothetical scenarios can go either way. What if DeMario doesnât screw up? What if JTT stays healthy? Maybe those Duq FTâs wouldnât have come into play.
Agree that we donât have room to regress next season. My response honestly wasnât motivated to defend Major, but to point out that hiring him in the first place wasnât a waste of time. Lutz def needed to go. The contract issue was a debacle, but he needed to go. I consider last season the first true look at what Major wants this team to look like. Iâm more encouraged by what we got out of our young players than any team Lutz put on the floor since 2006, with the only possible exception being the Coley/Mack/Leemire team (which wasnât as young).
UmmmmâŚagree to disagree
Look at last 5 years, hard to say Lutz didnât plateau here. I think if he landed another gig during that time, he would have continued his success.
AM blew it up and weâve increased our Wâs every year and were in the NCAA tourney picture until Mayfield decided to light up something other than the basket.
I personally think weâre heading in a better direction, hope Iâm right.

Fair enough⌠Everyone has their own idea how they view things. For me both teams started hot against less than difficult ooc hit conf play and collapsed at the end. Pretty much a carbon copy. I know youth and what not⌠Thatâs why I say next year is really the key on r we on the right track. At least with bobby we had someone who had proven he could win. So the trust level he could turn it around was higher ⌠At least for me. It was obvious though by the end he wasnât getting it done. We went and basically hire the exact opp coach. I hope we blow the doors off next year and destroy the conf. Then we will know we have righted the ship.

2 things.
The difference between that season and this one is that we actually made the postseason this year.
Next year, if we donât end up in the top 2 or 3 of that conference Major should probably start considering looking for another job.

Thatâs true. I just gave a hard time accepting that because it took duq missing fts an a meltdown of historical events to get us there. In the end though you are right.

Are you being serious? our Wâs have increased because we play a cupcake schedule. Our team is definitely on the decline.
The entire basketball program needs to be blown up and re built. Major needs to go, fast.
