Cameron Blakley 2013 PF - Signed LOI to Charlotte

There is a flag on the moon.

Here is some good info on him

I am curious too. Major hasn’t exactly done great with questionable characters.

Commited to Charlotte.

YAY! Finally we have a real 2013 recruit. Not one from last year, not one who is sitting out next year. Only took until May 5th… ::slight_smile:

Welcome to Charlotte, CB!

Hooray! Things are starting to look up a little! Welcome to the family Cameron!

great news. excited to have this kid. one point away from being a four star on espn. gives us needed size and versitility.

Very encouraged by this. Welcome to Charlotte Cameron!

Thrilled to hear this. Good player. Glad to have him on board

Add a little muscle and this kid could turn out to be a real find.

Excellent addition. He is exactly what the team needed for next year, and the future. A huge addition… nice job in crunch time. Now if E Vic ends up staying i feel pretty good about next year.

Welcome to Niner Nation, Cam!!

I wasn’t all that high on Ingrosso until I saw some of the numbers he put up when he played in Italy in early April. In the three games of pro ball he played there, he was the leading or second leading scorer in all three games for his team. He has legit size and by the time he plays his first college game he’ll be the age of a typical college junior, so he has a bit more experience than your typical freshman.

We expect players ranking to drop when they sign with us. If he’s losing hieght he must really be serious about coming here.[/quote]

Will be interesting to see if he gets his hieght back by November.

Does playing pro ball not affect the status of Ingrosso here?

Wow, that was quick after the visit (or during?). Hopefully he can suit up and show us what he’s got in Nov.

I’m on board with the rest of you. Nick stays and we have one more big to sign, next year gets back to looking pretty good. Lets see how it works out.

Our other Euro’s had played on national teams as well. I believe they also have tournaments that are basically tryouts / showcases for Euro ball scouts that are unpaid, so he may have been playing in something like that.

Great news! Blakley sounds like a guy with some potential.

Just a critical time in the program, it couldn’t afford a zero recruiting year or adding too many jucos if the slow build was to continue.

We could use another center guy, maybe Ingrosso? But Blakley’s addition should help next year and also have potential for bigger things with some development. This also is a big add for the year after next. Assuming no other transfers (a big if), we’d have jr’s Clayton, Thorne, and Sullivan, and So. Blakley in the post. With another young center, this has potential to be a very good post rotation.

any idea when ingorrosso is going to make a decision. with the addition of blakely, lester and possibly ingorrosso, and if nickerson stays, we should be significantly improved.

Ingrosso apparently still has to take either the SAT or the ACT to qualify.
