I think fearne is a decent coach, but it takes more than just being a decent coach to win in todays landscape unfortunately. The old college game is probably never coming back, unless players start signing employment contracts that prevent them from transferring so easily.
I like the guy, I just donāt think itās going to work out for him.
South Carolina, where head coaches go to kill their career. Frank McGuire left the holes, dropped South Carolina out of the ACC and he and SC became irrelevant. Bill Foster left Duke and bombed at SC, Bobby Cremins took the job for a day, went back to Georgia Tech and never was the same. Eddie Fogler was an up and comer that died at SC (we helped there, Hee Hee), Dave Odum, Star Coach at Wake and perennial NIT at SC, and our Candidate of the day " Darrin Horn".
Sanchez was at $650k. At a minimum, we will be around $850k and thatās on the low side for AAC. At $850k, we will attract quality HC options from the the jump. Majority of Sun Belt, CUSA, MAC, etc goes from $400k to $500k.
Would I rather lose with dignity than to win dishonestly, yes. All day every day.
Being on ESPN due to a cheating scandal is not the publicity we want. We will let Chapel Cheat keep that āhonorā.
Having your only solution of fire anybody and everybody is at best comical. Ask Duke if they are happy they kept Coach K after back 17 loss seasons in years 2 and 3. Ditching good coaches after just a few years is just plain stupid and leads to what we have now, constant turnover and continued seasons without an NCAA bid.
Is Fearne the answer, I donāt know yet as it is a long season. I do know he is getting a lot out of the roster and we are playing harder and better than we did under Ron.
Hey just one, almost 40 years a Niner, manās opinion. You do you. Cheat away.
Nope. I have been supporting this program some 1986 and I will leave this program if they hire a sleezeball like Wade. Wonāt give my money to a program that will hire sleeze just to win.
