“Jay Woo” scored in the first period. Charlotte then scored 4 unanswered goals for a 4-1 win.
Apparently it was their first time ever playing a team outside of their own. After the loss, their fans cheered them on as a team photo was taken on the ice to remember their loss.
After JWU scored their first goal I heard a fan say “And we’re just a club team.” I just wanted to slap some sense into him.
I really enjoyed the game and am definitely going to go to a few games at Xtreme Ice.

Sorry I missed this! Crazy last few days at work that limited my time in NNN and the internet at my house being down and then had a family birthday party to attend friday night. I pretty much feel like a schmuck for starting this thread and then not making the event. Maybe next time!

They shut down the beer at the start of the 3rd of the Checkers game, when I got there. I told them it was a double-header, so beer shouldn’t stop until the start of the 3rd of the 2nd game, but they said it wasn’t a real double-header. What a croc.
And they shut down food & non-alcholic drinks at the end of the Checkers game. I know there was less people, but have at least 1 concession stand open. What a bunch of crap!
And way to beat Carolina Beauty College. I mean Charlotte Trucking School. Oops I meant Johnson & Wales.
I was in a suite at the checkers game last night and after the game I stayed for a few beers. I heard a group of fans chanting “40—Niners”. I just thought some college students were proud to be niners and had no glue about the game. Minutes later the niners hockey team took the ice.
UNIFORMS were sweet.

Definitely a lot more JWU fans than Niners. They are the JWU Wildwats.
Heard many chants including “GO WALES” and “LET’S GO JAY WOO!” I hope as their athletic tradition progresses, they will get more creative.

i was there at the niner hockey game. That Number 8 on charlotte is huge. Last game i went to he hit some kid and knocked himself out. Him and number 9 know how to hit hard.

UNCC Men’s hockey is playing tonight at Time Warner Cable Arena. This is an attempt to get some attention for the UNCC ice hockey team. Not many people are aware of the program, but if you like a contact sport then this game is for you.
Hockey is probably the closest thing we are going to get to a football team for a few years, so try to get involved with the best contact sport on campus.

Last game JWU had over thousand students show up. UNCC only had about 50-100. Get the word out about the team. You can get tickets from school or on www.craigslist.com under tickets keyword HOCKEY
