Charlotte Hornets 🐝

Seems this happens every year. They suck all year, then after they’re out of playoff contention, they start winning and compromise their draft position. Glad I’m no longer invested financially or emotionally in this team or the nba in general.

Please tell me you are now financially invested in the Charlotte 49ers. With this coach and this team (almost all returning next year if we can keep them), next year can be really special. Heck, this year can be really special.

Timing is perfect for a big run as this city is starving for a successful program. If Poggi and Fearne can both pull it off, we should have some very special days ahead.

They do that a lot, but what they’ve also done is actually made some good roster moves (right before the deadline) for the first time in forever. They have guys that actually want to play and aren’t hurt all the time (Lamelo…), and it’s working.

They’re still nigh impossible to watch due to their crap TV deal.

And besides, we have an awesome Niners team to support.

Been financially investing in our 49ers since the early 70s. For instance, my name is on one of the plaques outside the football stadium for investing in the creation of the football program. Just to give you an idea.

Awesome 49er1. I wasn’t making an insinuation just trying to encourage as many as possible to invest time and money into our program. I hope we can encourage many others to join you. Keep it up.

It’s been SIXTEEN YEARS since I started this thread. I wanted to say thank you to whoever necro’d it. I got to see some interesting replies I’d missed or forgotten about.

It’s also interesting to read the naysayers who said we would never get the Hornets brand back. Similar was said about Charlotte 49er football. How times have changed. Sometimes things do work out!

That would be an impressive assistant to add. Ham honestly would have been a good hire for the head coach position but as lead assistant would be pretty awesome.

Won’t matter. The hornets are black balled by the nba because the fans wouldn’t buy a-hole owner Shinn a new arena and they moved to Nola. They’ll never be any good, while the other teams that came into the league at the same time as expansion teams have won one or more championships.

Championships are not decided by the NBA.

If Charlotte was blackballed why the heck would we have gotten another team?

FWIW, of the four franchises granted expansion teams in 1988 - Charlotte, Miami, Minnesota, and Orlando - only the Heat have won an NBA title.

Maybe I was thinking about all the teams that came with the Hornets and afterwards winning division championships and at least making the finals. The Hornets have won one first round series ever.

Definitely no argument there!
