Can’t we just tank and add Cooper Flagg to the core players?
I admit I don’t watch that much, but that core group seems like it might be something to watch. Especially if they can all stay healthy.
I’m not saying they should trade Lemelo. Just saying they might.
I don’t like 1 for 2 player trades. So multiple players for Lamelo is a non starter for me.
A great player and a pick maybe.
It’s all about their internal evaluation of Lemelo. If they don’t think he can take them where they want to be then maybe they try to do something.
I have no trade ideas myself. And at this point I don’t see why they would trade him unless someone offers a godfather offer.

Starting 5 is pretty good. They’re lacking depth, a veteran presence and the defense is really bad.

Contract dictates a lot but I would trade Ball if I could. Can not stay healthy. Does not come through in the clutch but thinks he is the one. Miller is that dude. Build around him. Also the face of the franchise running around Charlotte with porn stars is not a great corporate look even if the world has changed.

The entire 4Q is not crunch time. How many 4Q games have the Hornets been down big this year and game out of hand. Different game then.
Had to take him out the entire OT game earlier in the year to let Miller take over and win it. Game on the line you want Ball taking a grandpa step back fade away 3 or Miller coming off a screen like Paul George. Kid is talented but more show than go.
What is the number. 82 out of 200 games played. Got to be on the court to win it.

Even if the Hornets had the worst record at the end of the season they’d still lose the lottery for first pick. Rigged.

I think we’re doing a solid job at tanking with Lamelo still on the court. Plus these guys have been injured for so long we need to see what they can do with extended time healthy
I’m so far behind on watching basketball this year.
I have not seen any Cooper Flagg.
Is he the real deal?
Does he conflict with any of our existing players positionally (perhaps Miller)?
Is he so good that it doesn’t matter you just take him?
Is he that level of prospect?
I’m normally very suspect on “can’t miss players”.
He’s an 18 year old already dominating college basketball, and has a nearly unlimited upside.
IMHO, if you get pick #1, you take him. He’s the best looking prospect I’ve seen since captain unibrow.

While this year is shaping up to produce a very good draft class, Flagg is THE top pick. In fact, Duke has three potential lottery picks in Flagg and fellow freshmen Kon Knueppel and Khaman Maluach.
