Charlotte v Arizona St - POSTGAME

Lutz has to go. Don’t care if we can’t find someone ā€œbetterā€ let’s just find someone different. Actually, different would be better…so there ya go.

Getting tired of the same story…year after year. We need a new direction!

I have never seen a poorer job of an offensive gameplan for a zone defense than we run. I never saw one pass attempt into the middle or the post of the zone the whole game. Not one!
When have you ever seen a Lutz team pass into the middle of a zone? It's either a three, a lay-up or a Curtis or Cam type breaking down their man off of the dribble. Nobody ever flashes across/through/under the high-post even when it's wide open like last night. They had three guys spread across the 3-pt line and two under the basket. We're going to see that all year. We always do.

Game plans and execution comes long after…

 1. Knowing how to dribble (and I don’t mean off you foot, like we do so well)
 2. Passing to people on your own team
 3. Moving w/o the basketball
 4. Being able to make an uncontested layup

Anyone care to add more things we don’t know how to do?

I am optimistic…I think we can at least learn how to do one or two of these things in time for Atlantic City!

Fun Fact:
in the last 2 second halves against Sendek, Lutz has been beaten 95 to 60

This part does mystify me. We've got a center that can hit the high post shot (at least he nails his free throws). The zone would have to collapse, freeing up the outside shooter. On the other hand, our guys have hands of stone, so we'd have to somehow get it to them.

Didn’t see the game, so can’t really add much. This was a terrible match-up for us, and I wasn’t all that surprised with the margin. That’s not a defense of Lutz, there’s a reason we lose to teams like this every year.

As much as guys like to jump on the posters pointing out the officiating, it is a factor in the final score. We have gotten zero respect from A10 officiating in past years, and there have been some occasions when I really do think the officiating has changed the outcome of the game (not this one most likely, but a blowout is more likely when your better players have foul trouble). When you can’t play the same way the other team does, it makes your defense look soft (what, you want them to foul out more quickly?) and your offense looks ragged as they pull and bump players without getting called. Again, not the reason we lost, but there’s no reason to always dismiss it as unimportant. Let’s just say it contributes (you could argue whether Lutz is part of the reason for the lack of officiating respect…).

I wish I had 3 or 4 more middle fingers to give you right now id.

WOW, not a good showing for the boys last night. I wanted to cut my wrist the first 10 minutes after the 9th turnover. Going to be a long year.

It’s over -> We are going nowhere this year. It’s November and there’s no hope in sight. How pathetic.

I cant even put words together to express how frustrating last night was.

Family members were laughing at me and my school. They couldn’t really beleive I have season tickets. Sad part was, last night, I had no defense. I had every low point (loss to Herb in NCAA’s, bad loss last year in NIT, crap season two years ago, etc. etc.) thrown back at me.

Bottom line was yesterday was embarrASSing to be a Niner.

Hopefully there will be a brightspot before the season ends.

We also need to get bigger, physically they were much bigger than we were. Their all pac ten guard, number 13, seemed to be as big as anyone we had on our team, outside of Phil.

They could just spread the court on offense and just physically beat us one on one at every position.

That seems to be one of our biggest gaps in the last few years, we don’t have the physical size that we use to have, and this hurt us in these games, az st., nebraska…

This has to be an all time low point for me as a niner.

Coach Lutz acts like a 2 year old on the sideline, that is why we get no respect from the officials. It was one thing when we were semi-successful, it is another when we are garbage.

No way. You were on that last Mildcats road-trip, weren’t you?

Anjuan needs more PT. If they can’t feed him down low and let him work, at least he can board and get some garbage points.

Big Phil need to be more a part of the offense. A big man that can hit FT’s need to get the ball more.

It took a while, but Mempiss fans were finally right.

We are at best the Sixth best team in NC… Could be #7 since App has scoreboard on us.

Don’t forget, UNCW beat App.
Man, its been a horrible season. Horrible. But before people rush to call for Lutz’s head…can we put this in perspective? We just lost to the 14th best team in the country.

I’ll also add that our starting PG quit on his team days before the season started, our current PG is a walkon, our backup PG never played point in his life, and our leading scorer during the preseason is out for the season.

But in spite of that, yeah, its been a horrible season. This is ****ing painful.
We used to be top 14 teams on a consistant basis. Now we can’t compete with them.

Are you saying we use to be a consistant top 14 team here???

I’m guessing beat was the operative word… I agree with it too

I DVRd the game last night & for some reason Im watching it again now. I have never seen so many offensive fouls in my life. Or touch fouls for that matter.By no means am I blaming that for the lose because we simple got our ass kicked. But damn those had to be A10 refs!

After watching again Coleman done some great things last night. He was about the only one who attacked the inside for us. Pendergraph absolutely murdered us on the inside.

Mack killed us. He couldnt do Anything right on offense or defense.

Thats all I can take Im deleting this game from the DVR!
