Charlotte vs. EZU (12/1)

Is EZU on TV? I have to work at Panthers Stadium for Acc Snooze Fest where GT will get pummeled by FSU.

Just sent our Athletic Dept. a suggestion to show some extra love to our team pre ezu game for being 6-0 and GAS champs. We’ll see if they go with it. :stuck_out_tongue:

They beat Georgia st tonight by like 9 I think. Bowden didn’t have a stat line so not sure what’s up.

That guillemete dude had a whole 3 points

Bowden had at least 10. Like Costanza, he’s a chucker.

They shot less than 30% from three, fouled 17 times and had 15 TO’s. we are going to run them out of the gym.

This! I literally want to beat them by 30!!! Their fans are unreal.

I watched a good bit of the game on firstrowvirusspammalewaresports.eu. Guilmette is absolute garbage. I mean for 6’10, he played like he’s three feet tall. He got blocked easily several times, despite the GA State post players being smaller. I’m really glad we backed off recruiting him. They shoot a lot of threes. A LOT. Sampson and Kemp are legit, and Paul is a decent pg, but the rest of their team are scrubs. Shamwow is still a machine gunner who plays nothing that resembles defense.

GA State played average D, and ECU still barely broke 60. Our defense will give them nightmares. If they turn the ball over 15 times vs GA State, they will have a horrible time vs us.

We SHOULD win by 20+.

We just need to shut them up.

I agree. GSU was not pressuring the ball much until the last couple of minutes and ECU seemed to have some problems when they did. I imagine we will see quite a bit of zone, but if they play us straight away the driving lanes will be about 8 feet wide all the way to the hoop. ECU’s interior defense didn’t rotate until late, but they ended up with blocks because of the small GSU point guards. I think Thorne could match up easily against Guilmette. I think Clark will pull down at least 10 rebounds if he sees more than 15 minutes. However, that number might get skewed the wrong way because of long rebounds for missed 3’s. I don’t expect ECU to get 10 points in the paint.

My prediction is

Charlotte 68
ECU 54

They get to 54 because we back off the final 6 minutes. With 6 minutes to go the score is 60-40.

Its OK, ECU is going Big East next week so they’ll become the best basketball program in the state in 2 years. woot!

Why is a thread about a game against ECU getting so much pub? Did I miss something? It’s ECU basketball…

Is it just because that troll SJ?

Anyway…

We should win this game. We’ll probably be favored by around eight again.

Actually these next two games are pretty important. Beating ECU and Davidson will generate some good press throughout the state, and we certainly need the good press. Beating Davidson might actually get enough national attention to warrant a Top 25 vote or two. (Assuming we beat CMU as well)

Also losing to ECU would just be pitiful given the start we are having, and because its freaking ECU MAN!!! (Shivers at the thought)

Seriously though we need the good press.

To memorialize the discussion I had with NLP in the shoutbox last night:

We have to key on Bowden. I know what you’re thinking…he’s BOWDEN. But we should not overlook or underestimate the power of pride. He’s going to come into Halton with something to prove and any partially open jumper he gets, he’s going to take. Hopefully he’s got enough bricks to build a house on the bench by about the end of the first half, but he’s a shameless gunner and if he finds his stroke (a la his game for us against UNCA) it could get chest-poundingly ugly in a hurry. The last thing we need is ECU feeling confident and hanging around with about 8 minutes to go.

He’s going to chuck 10+ shots. We ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO get a hand in his face and bump him when he’s trying to get to a spot. Seriously. Make anyone else try to beat us.

Truth. My recipe would be go at him on D when he is in the game. We know he doesn’t play it - go at him and make it cost them to have him on the floor.

Before reading this thread I could care less about 1-in-3 U. Now we HAVE to crush them.

clt has the solution to bowden heating up…henry will lock his ass down.

If we beat ECU and Davidson, where is this “good press” coming from, Katz? sure as hell won’t be local news.
