Charlotte vs. EZU (12/1)

I usually work the first Thursday and Friday of the tournament each year. Who did you guys play?

You finished 5 spots higher last year. 5. And the trend was for the gap to narrow, us to improve and you to worsen. Keep in mind you schedule 4 non-RPI factoring games. Considering your record was 11-16 in RPI factoring games, that means you had a lesser winning percentage. If you had scheduled 4 more games against DI teams, it’s reasonable that you would have lost at least 2 and maybe 3. Your RPI could very well have been less. If you can not even concede that POSSIBILITY, then I have no more time to ever respond to you.

And just to really iterate my point:

Charlotte was 0-1 vs. RPI Top 25. 1-5 vs. RPI Top 50 1-8 vs. RPI Top 100 1-2 vs. RPI Top 150 2-2 vs. RPI Top 200 and 8-0 vs. RPI < 200

ECU was 0-0 vs. RPI Top 25 1-6 vs. RPI Top 50 0-3 vs. RPI Top 100 1-4 vs. RPI Top 150 3-1 vs. RPI Top 200 and 6-2 vs. RPI < 200

Considering you had losses versus RPI < 200 teams, don’t even try to tell me the scenario I described above wasn’t plausible.

Damn, that was a thorough thrashing.

Now SJ follows with a breakdown of Guilmette’s high school block numbers in 3…2…1…

clt says this thread should be deleted. We are talking smack to an ecu fan about basketball?

Not trash talking - just trying to educate him since ECU fans don’t know what successful basketball looks like.

That’s like educating a fundamental creationist on the science of carbon dating.

Now that is funny

I’ll say this about ECU after watching them several times this year:

Kemp is a legit talent.

Paul can score, but he has bad shooting nights sometimes. He does other things well enough to make up for it most of the time though.

Guilmette had a bad night against App, but he is still a question mark. I personally think he’ll struggle mightily against D1 teams. He does make good passes though.

Sampson had a monster rebounding game against App and he is a decent player overall.

The rest of ECU is mediocre to bad. App lost by 30+ to High Point, but were within 3 of ECU with about 2 minutes left. That makes two bad D1 teams in a row that ECU was in serious danger of losing to.

They don’t have anyone that can match up with Braswell.

We had to replace 4 starters last season and were still a lot better than our program has been in the past. Major on the other hand has and is still relying on Lutz players like Braswell. We also improved both seasons as the year went on and were playing our best the last fews weeks into tourny time, where as Major teams fade away after X-mas.

Here are the numbers under Lebo and Major

Lebo
1-50: 3-10
50-100: 5-10
100-200: 5-10
200+: 13-3

Major
1-50: 2-10
50-100: 2-8
100-200: 6-17
200+: 13-2

That’s a coach that took over a program that was 230 and has had to replaced it with more of his own players in key positons, compared to one that took over a program that was top 75 the year before and is still relying heavily on the past regimes hand me down star even today.

ECU…28 Top 100 faced
UNCC…22 Top 100 faced

Talk about our schedule all you want but we’ve faced tougher teams under Lebo than you have under Major.

Actually, the schedue difficulty was virtually even, except for you having to play us and us getting to play you.

Are you mental? I mean seriously are you this f’n dumb? You STILL don’t get that by scheduling the D2 and D3 teams they don’t count against your RPI and that if you replaced them with real competition your RPI would fall. We schedule those teams as exhibitions, you schedule them as regular season and you want to talk about difficulty of schedule? I swear you are the dumbest poster I think I have ever seen on the internet. If you would get Lebo’s junk out of your mouth for just a moment and take a second to think clearly you might understand this.

That’s an understatement.

Paul can score, but he has bad shooting nights sometimes. He does other things well enough to make up for it most of the time though.
He's one of the best PG's in the nation, period.
Guilmette had a bad night against App, but he is still a question mark. I personally think he'll struggle mightily against D1 teams. He does make good passes though.
He didn't have a bad night. Armstrong played well and Sampson was eating up all the rebounds. This wasn't a great game for him when App at 6-6 guards in the post and were playing up tempo. He is a lot better suited for games with teams with legit size and a game with a player like Braswell.
Sampson had a monster rebounding game against App and he is a decent player overall.
He's 6-8 and shot 44% from 3 last year with a messed up shooting hand that bothered him for 2 months. He's better than decent.
The rest of ECU is mediocre to bad. App lost by 30+ to High Point, but were within 3 of ECU with about 2 minutes left. That makes two bad D1 teams in a row that ECU was in serious danger of losing to.
Work on your math. App didn't lose by that much to HP and we beat them by 10. If you want to play that game we had about a 10 point lead over UNCG in the last 2 minutes until they started throwing up prayers.
They don't have anyone that can match up with Braswell.
You don't have anyone that can match up with Kemp or Paul so I still like our chances. I think Guilmette, Armstrong and Sampson will do just fine though.

No it wasn’t

Average RPI under

Lebo #130
Major #196

We faced a lot stronger SOS.

Yes, because Kemp’s 6 points in 17 minutes last season have me terrified for what he’ll do this year.

So which is it. You treat them like they don’t exist and don’t want to count them as wins like the NCAA because that would give Lebo a winning record overall, but when I post something like RPI you decide you want to count them then. Make up your mind.

Bottomline is our program has improved a lot under Lebo. Yours has been a lot worse any way you look at it. We are also postioned a lot better for our present and future.

Yes, because we know one game is represenative of the entire season and career. That would make Brisco one of the best players in the coutnry if you just look at last years game, and Morrow was a pathetic scrub who didn’t score a point in 36 minutes.

Kemp: 6-8 SF…19.5ppg 8.5rpg 3apg. 2spg. 2bpg this season

I’m using the body of work of Charlotte vs. ECU to make a point. You claim we don’t have anyone who can match up with Kemp, yet last year we didn’t seem to have a problem doing so. I’m using actual evidence of us playing you guys. How am I in the wrong on that? Educate me.
