I’m just surprised she chose a program in transition as UK just hired a new coach after coming off back-to-back losing seasons. Some of the other schools she considered - Marquette, UNC-CH, and Tennessee - are perennial NCAAT teams.
Looks like we have 5 players on our website. Makes me nervous. BTW, one of ours transferred to frigin’ Marquette

As far as a former Niner headed to Milwaukee, can’t blame her. Chances of making NCAAT just increased dramatically - in spite of the cold!
Anyway, read about a potential transfer a week ago but hadn’t posted about it since no official confirmation yet, so not sure if there’s an issue holding things up etc.
Maybe. We obviously don’t know if our incoming coach can elevate our program.
She’s done it elsewhere, which you can’t really say for Cara. IMO, she left us nowhere near as well off as when she took over for a departing Astin. I’d be willing to bet that we poured more resources than our conference mates into women’s basketball over her tenure here with so so results. Our one conference championship was, in my view, a combination of amazingly good luck and a down conference year overall. We made the NCAA that single year and got absolutely smoked in the Dance. Constantly bringing out the conference championship trophy while performing poorly the following year really got under my skin. I’m sure Cara is a good interview and a good person and the players really like her. I hope she can get some excellent assistants and retain them in Milwaukee. She’s going to need them.
Edit: Even in the one championship year, Cara was outcoached by that no neck dude over at MTSU and we lost twice to them. We had one total win over them while she was here.

Thanks. I could have done without the mention of that other Jackson State coach.
For those that didn’t listen she said the following that I thought was important:
- Finished filling in the roster the week of the interview.
- Multiple SEC and Big12 transfers along with some from her team at Jackson State.
- She said she expects Top 100 HS Seniors coming to Charlotte in the future.
Interesting that she says the roster is complete, but we haven’t heard very much. 
Also, interesting she noted that there were only 4 players returning from last year’s team. That is a big turnover.
