Didn’t realize that WBB and MBB followed different recruiting calendars. After checking see they are similar but not completely aligned. There are 6 dead periods of varying lengths for MBB between now and the end of August, while at least 3 more for WBB.
Now I know where assistant coach Johnathon Williams went, he was named associate head coach at Southern Miss, who is filling out staff with Missy Bilderback the new head coach. Coach Williams is going back to Mississippi where he is from. don’t know who coach Reed will replace him with, but that is where he was going.
I mentioned it last month sometime that he had a new opportunity, but didn’t know what it was at the time. I still need to look and see if they have hired a new Strength Coach, only announced last month, but also a position they need for WBB.

How is this years recruiting class coming along?
I think it’s going good for coach reed, she seems excited about the players she has gotten so far. Maybe because this is a no recruiting period right now, they hid all of the recent signings they had done so far, so you should be able to see them again on the 12th.
I know that a few who entered the portal have new schools, everyone saw Keanna Rembert to East Carolina, Alexis Andrews to Monmouth, DeeDee Shephard to Nichols State(thought she was the other Grad Student, but that’s what it says in the Transfer Portal, maybe another year?), Tena Ikidi to Cal St Bakersfield have all found new teams.
Nia Young and Hayleigh Breland also entered the portal, but no idea if they will stay or have found new schools, but it’s not updated yet. The team had 5 Grad Students if I remember right, and Daphne White never got to play, just wasn’t ready like they hoped and thought with the rehab during the offseason.
That left two Sr’s, but don’t know if a 5th and final year, or if they have moved on with Aanaya Harris, and Imani Smith. That leaves Caroline Thiel as the only player from last years team currently if the two Sr’s are not coming back.
From what I remember it’s a mix of incoming Freshman this year with Graves, a Freshman of the year in the OVC Conference, a Jr Forward from Bethune Cookman All Conference Selection, one who only played Basketball her Sr year of highschool, and had a lot of offers, but went to Juco for a year to better prepare.
The tallest so far is 6’4, so for anyone who LOVES to do math, how many potential spots left on the team? If I counted correct, Seven Recruits so far for this class. What needs or wants do you all have for finding out next week and beyond. Most of them are Guards, I did check and no new Strength or Sports Performance Coach has been hired yet, so waiting to see who the new one will be, that is a huge position, especially now for offseason. Also who will replace coach Williams on staff will also need to be seen.
So to answer your question, looks like some good pieces coming in, need staff to fill out, but other than that, will have to wait and see what the final class looks like when they have the final update. I do think that being in Charlotte a full season, and seeing the new conference and not coming in and having to rush at the end of April will make a difference. We shall look at the offseason workout updates, and her Camp is coming up too.

That’s what I mentioned above, my thought is because of the no recruiting period now, they hide them. Would come back sometime on the 12th, maybe a thing were you can’t promote what you have already done. I don’t know, but that was my thoughts about it.
