Size King!
The 2023-24 Niner roster definitely tops those during the Mike Pratt era (1978-82) for height. That group included:
George Devone 6-9
Harrison Finklea 6-8
Lawrence Furlow 6-8
James George 6-9
Melvin Johnson 6-9
Phil Scott 6-8
Leroy Smith 6-8
Bruce Stapleton 6-8
Roland VanDenBergh 6-9
Tall on height, short on talent
Yep, though Melvin Johnson was the real deal.
Who are those names?

I’m glad I don’t recognize those names. Only means one thing.
Unfortunate that Melvin Johnson (#00) was here during the mediocrity that characterized the Pratt years and then the total disaster that followed. Four year starter who averaged double figure scoring every season.

He was drafted in the 4th round of NBA it says, by the Bulls, he must of been the back up plan if their 1st rounder didnt work out, same position….![]()

Melvin Johnson with the patented 25 foot bank shot from the wing!!!
One doesn’t usually think of Sidney Green when thinking about the Bulls but I do remember him. Actually finished his NBA career as a Hornet and then coached in college, including a stint with FAU!
Depends on what he was sitting behind at USC. Sometimes these players don’t turn out to be as good as the recruiting hype, sometimes injury held them back and sometimes these teams just recruit over guys that are still good players. Hard to know at this point.

Watts originally committed to Seton Hall but re-opened recruitment a couple of weeks ago. Actually from Seattle before spending this year prepping in Connecticut.
I don’t understand the logic of signing 4 6-10 guys and only one guard.
We will now have 5 guys 6-9 or taller.
We needed max two bigs and the rest wings and guards.
Makes no sense.
Sanchez needs them to be guards, bodyguards
I don’t expect all of these guys to be quality type 20+ minute per game this year in looking at their previous stats. We’d be lucky if just one is really good and another half way good. Maybe there’s some development that can happen over the year/s, no idea but I’m fine with having tall guys on the roster. I was tired of having just 1. I’d like to be able to play 2 big guys at once sometimes.
Twin-Twin towers
It’s good to have height, but my fear is we are going to slow things down even more given how we recruited.
We lost two key perimeter contributors in Gipson and Brice.
My hope is that Rolf is tearing it up in practice and Sanchez knows he’s got a player there. That and Braswell coming back helps.
This is going to be a golden opportunity for Graves and Perry.
