ACC will soon add this lovely college town.
What’s the deal with Berkeley? Have the suffered from the same lawlessness that has plagued San Francisco?
The irony is if those boosters had been supporting them at that level the last few years they would have gotten a P5 invite with the TV money.

The extension will pay the coach an average salary of more than $2 million per year and run through the 2027 season, ESPN and Yahoo Sports reported.
But there are some hurdles with the AAC and Army that will take a few weeks to hammer out, according to league sources.
Army has a lot of games on future schedules it would need to get out off as soon as next year. CBS Sports also holds the TV rights to Army home games through 2028, a deal that was extended last year, while ESPN has the exclusive rights to AAC games. The Army-Navy game is expected to remain in its slot, the week after conference championship games, and it is expected to remain a nonconference game even with Army and Navy in the same league, per a league source.
Sounds like the AAC is going to get another media partner, CBS.
Bring it!
The bigger question is the Olympic sports add.
Is it VCU???
How about George Washington?
I can’t think of any other viable candidates.
I’m sure they exist though.
Army and VCU over SMU seems like a win to me.
Yea I’d agree with that. No offense to SMU but I’ll take that trade.

Per this piece, Memphis’s recent attempts to land a Big 12 invite included the corporate support of FedEx and Lowe’s. Aware of the former but not the latter. Hmm… ![]()
If lowes helped memphis over the home team, I’d go out of my way to go to Home Depot.
Does Lowes even advertise with us? Think of how many Charlotte grads probably work in the Mooresville HQ.
Home Depot is HQ’d in the Vinings area of ATL. Wonder if they support Georgia State at all? Or do they just stick to the SEC / ACC schools?
Lowes CEO was a Charlotte grad for a long time…he may be gone now, not sure. They’ve never done much for us, at least publicly.
Robert Niblock, thats the CEO, he personally has given us a few million for a scholarship endowment and if I recall Lowes donated a few million for AI research awhile back. I dont recall them supporting anything of note for athletics up to this point.
clt says the current lowe’s ceo probably offered his support.
there is no value at all for lowe’s to support memphis athletics
He’s been gone for several years. Their cfo at the time was also a Charlotte grad.
The current ceo went to…memphis.
From Niblock’s Wiki page:
Just reading about current Lowe’s CEO Marvin Ellison. In addition to being a Memphis grad, he also serves on the school’s BOT. Plus he’s on the board of directors for FedEx.
