I find it hard to think we would jump chapel hill just due to the number of analysts that think they are a much needed key piece for expansion. even though I think their branding is overrated.
call me crazy but I think nc state is actually doable to leapfrog in ten years time if we needed to jump ahead of someone in line in the state. after all some people think chapel needs to take state if they want to leave the acc. but if we went p5 would chapel hill need to drag them along? I would make the argument that the tarholes do a good job of controlling the triangle region but none of the tobacco schools do enough to penetrate the charlotte region. if chapel hill gets picked up by someone maybe its better served if charlotte is used as a consolidation prize or a partner school instead of state.
SEC & Big 10 are not taking anyone unless you increase the value of their media rights. We would just be another needy, starving mouth to feed. Our best hope is to get our butts in gear & try to position ourselves over the next 10 years for an opening in the B12. Right now I just hope we can compete good enough to not get kicked out of the AAC.
Not getting kicked out of AAC as long as Aresco is commish. Afterall, we have a really nice airport that’s going to be even nicer with the Billion Dollar Runway addition!
