clt expects the nfl to start playing more saturday night games
College sports outside the P4 super league whatever you want to call it will never die.
It will change. But it will not die.
If Pembroke, WSSU, Guilford College, Brevard, etc. can keep their sports alive hen by god the FBS leftovers can.
I wish the super league teams would just go away. Go ahead and split off.
Please.
Yeah thatās the crazy thing about all this. As the league forms it actually makes things harder for the individual teams to find high level success but they cash a big check. Itās why I think in the end the super league will fail as fans eventually revolt.
They get paid more to lose more. The fans will love that!
Do they honestly think their fans will be satisfied with finishing in the bottom half of these new leagues even with more $$. Hell their inflated egos canāt handle finishing second.
Already teams finishing in bottom half of Big Ten and SEC more often than not. Just going to get more money to keep doing so.
Oklahoma was the king of the Big 12 regularly winning 11+ games every year. Most years they were in the conversation for a top bowl game and possibly the national championship. Now theyāll be just another middle of the road SEC team. I wonder how that impacts their fan base a decade from now? Nebraska is nothing in the Big 10. College football, especially in the playoff era would be far more attractive to fans if every conference had only around eight teams. More conference champions and they all play each other in the playoff.
UTEP has been waiting 25 years for this so maybe thereās hope for the Memphis Tigers, who too have been āout in the FBS wildernessā for over 2 decades.
This is spot on:
Went to the Davidson game last night (it was free). Good regional matchup with 1000 yards of offense between the two teams.
I would love the power conferences to go soon so we can form up more regional conferences where we can get to more away games without going to an airport.
Before you jump on my case, I do realize that the rest of the PFL is scattered to the wind. The point I am trying to make is this: imagine our entire conference being mostly within driving distance.
The Davidson/Presbyterian game was able to be moved so quickly because of the mere hours between the schools. I know it has been said before ad nauseum, but it would be so nice to build some more regional rivalries several hours away.
The three schools most talked about on this forum that we travel to are Davidson, App and ECU. Only ECU is in our conference and only since last year.
Wouldnāt it be nice to have at least 5-7 schools within driving distance to talk about? I am ready for the chaos. This may be the best thing for us in a messed up way
Yes it would.
Good for utep. Hope it happens.
Why would anyone in CUSA sign a GOR? I guess it was required for the newer teams to join?
Got them a better TV deal.
This stuff has got to be close to breaking. Outside of Georgia, Alabama, Michigan and Ohio State is any school actually worth the number they are being paid by these TV companies? My suspicion is no.
