Yeah for Duke literally every other avenue will have to have disappeared.

So if Duke is not a possibility, put in Liberty, Coastal Carolina, or Tulsa, Georgia Tech would go to the Big 12, they have descent football history, let the AAC Texas schools go to the Pac 12 or Mountain West
Let âwest of the Mississippiâ Tulsa go to the Pac or MW as well.

Ouch.
I think that means that Memphis is not anywhere close to being the top target for the B12 if they have to backfill.
I do not believe that there will be any future call ups into the P4.

There is no one to add that increases the pie of revenue.
If the Big12 ever adds anyone else itâs likely to be a survival move after they are no longer a power conference ala the Pac12s recent moves.

In regard to SMU. I have no idea what to call that situation.
I supposed THEY were the guy that got the last seat on the last helicopter out of Saigon and they had to pay big time for it.
Big 12 has now said no to overtures by Gonzaga, UConn and Memphis. So not exactly a surprise.
Of course, Houston is the prime example of persistence finally paying off. With the next big cycle likely coming up in 5 years, who knows.
As long as there still is a P4 i agree with you. However, I think eventually it will be a P2. Just hoping those 2 donât add a whole lot more schools from the ACC or the Big 12. I donât think they will add anyone from the Big 12. Maybe a couple from the ACC.
So Cincy, Houston, and UCF are on borrowed time. Still better off than us by a long shot.

There was a time, not long ago that the Lowes CEO and CFO (iirc) were both Charlotte grads. I dont think they ever did crap for us. Certainly not on a large scale, atleast.

For what SMU gave up, would be more accurate to say the ACC got the best of that deal.

SMU has the backers with the money and it made total sense for the school to get access to the East Coast. Not only do their major backers have the money many are also in the Sports business.
They had been waiting for decades to do this.
They have a pool of donors that pledged the money in daysâŚ
