Yawn. Let me know when something Actually happens
So many places I could have put this, but I guess this will do:
Theyāre done, cutting up to half the budget of an already struggling program is a one way street.
I canāt see them staying FBS. That may be why La Tech was added. Preemptive replacement.
I donāt think they will be the only program to drop back. There will be more.
clt says many lowly sunbelt teams should move down
Yep, there will be more. Saint Francis-PA is dropping to D-III after this upcoming season. And St. Francis Brooklyn dropped intercollegiate athletics altogether in 2023.
I suspect ULM football will initially revert to FCS and seek membership in either the Southland or United. Probably the former would be best since it has a smaller geographic footprint.
Is $12m-$15m even competitive for an AD with FCS football?
Things are apparently so bad at ULM that no one has updated their Wiki page to show that Carrie Castille is now president, which was announced back in May.
clt googled to learn what the hell is ulm and this popped up

When I read that earlier in the day wondered if it was a short term appointment or not. Timing couldnāt be worse for Vincent as heās gone from giving his full attention to football to now overseeing the entire ULM AD.
Ironically, ULM will open itās 2025 football season with Saint Francis-PA, which - as mentioned earlier - is dropping down to D-III after this season.
There but for the grace of god go usā¦ā¦
We are damn lucky we are in a growing city with a lot of student demand and likely can weather changes coming in higher ed but you never know whatās gonna happen.
Iām not throwing any shade their way.
I hope they can drop to FCS or D2 and find stability.
Agree, College sports are already in freefall.
Will be interesting to follow how Colleges stay relevant acedemically
over the next 5 years. The time and financial worth of a college degree is in question.
clt has yelled at the clouds for years that the UNC system needs consolidation.
combine appy, unca, and wcu under the wcu name
combine uncp, uncw, and ecu under the ecu name
Here is one for youā¦ā¦
Augusta State in GA has joined the West Coast Conferenceā:grin:![]()
Augusta won back-to-back NCAA D-I menās golf team championships while current pro Patrick Reed was a member of the squad in 2010-11.
Will be the third conference in 5 years for the Jags menās and womenās golf teams. Past 3 years with Southland and MEAC before that. AU D-II in all other sports.
Wish we could skip forward to the acc implosion. With the 300 mil donation kansas just got that might put them into the superleague convo too.
If they were in a more populous state it might help, but conferences/networks arenāt fighting for those Kansas eyeballs.
