I didn't hear the show but it sounds like you guys may be a little hard on her.
She is in the media and she does throw us some love.
The question is ’ who would she pull for if the niners and heels were playing each other’?
I hate to say this, but if you are in a media position like her, you almost have to pick Carolina or Duke in basketball for general conversation points.
That said, they do not have to be your first team and you should not say that is your favorite thing to do if you claim to be a niner first.

If she says on Charlotte radio that she is surprised that 49er fans give her a hard time for not giving a Charlotte score, again, I think we know where her priorities lie.
Next year when Carolina, Duke or both are making a final four run, she can talk about how the niners almost won their NIT game. That will get a lot of the WBTV fan base excited and keep their attention. I did not say that she should pick them over the niners, but I understand that she needs to side with either Carolina or Duke and play it up to the fan base. I don’t like it, but that is the way it is. Fire Away. If we are in the big dance, I would expect her to come decked out in full green.

When someone in the public eye graduates from “our” university, yet publicly supports another university, it’s a slap in the face. Unfortunately, she is not alone. I’ve met several alumni in the Greenville, SC area that couldn’t care less about Charlotte. Most of them pull for Chapel Hill, just like this lady… :unhappy:

If you don’t realize what affect a local tv news producer can have on the general public, then you are very naive. It’s all about exposure. What is wrong with Niner fans wanting more coverage? Isn’t that what fans are supposed to want? And you’re also being naive to not realize that the exposure she could give the school can actually increase the alumni donations that you said we should be worrying about.
I got a very classy email from Danielle. I think she regrets the whole episode. She in fact also apologized. Her dad and sister have ties to the school and she’s a fan. [B]She actually admitted that saying, “one of my favorite things is going up to CH” sounded bad “now that she thought about it.”

She says she’s proud to be an alum and is involved in various ways.
I think in summary, she’d love to have her words back because she’s read this site and a flood of emails. She also said she had spent a day with a vice chancellor lately and knows how bad Chapel Hill screws us. I think she now realizes her error. I do. It doesn’t fix what she said but at least from here forward she will never prop UNC over UNCC again.

I did not say you should not be pissed. There are just more important things to be pissed about. I may be naive Normmm, but be truthful and tell me how you found out about Ms. Trotta’s gaffe. Like me, you probably heard about it on this message board because you weren’t lstening to the broadcast. In the grand scheme of things Ms. Trotta and Primetime with Billy Jr are irrelevant. That’s my point. I just pray Bobby does something soon to make us more relevant and maybe then I would extremely pissed at a situation such as this.
I like the enthusiasim but I don’t like the focus. As always, Go Niners!
