If the reaction on the Northwestern Message boards is any indication, we just got a great player. According to some people, NW was basically staking the future of their program on Booker.
Pardon the French, but this is FUGGIN HUGE.
If Tatum comes too, we could have 5 freshmen!!! Wow!
All the people that complain that we just sign JUCOs can shut up now.
great. I’m glad the day has finally come.
So a talented guy goes underrecruited for a while and is close to committing to a lesser known school until a program with more recent success comes in and takes him away at the 11th hour…seems like we’ve heard this story before. Glad to be on the good end of the deal for once, but it does suck for Northwestern.
Good grief… I go out of town for one day and look what happens.
We get the best high school player in the state of Miss.
I am going to plan some more trips…
03/28/06 - from Hoop Scoop…
“Booker, who visited Charlotte a week ago and verbally committed to the 49ers over the weekend, has emerged as the best senior in the state, according to Lavel Johnson. “Booker is not a great athlete, but he’s very skilled, can shoot the three, and has excellent footwork,” says Johnson. Booker also is an excellent student, which explains why Northwestern finished second and he also had schools like SMU, Boston College, Tulane, and Texas A&M on his list.”

That is great news! I cannot wait to see him in a niner uniform!
Sounds like exactly what we need. Really looking forward to him making it official on April 12th.
I completely agree. Watchin this guy progress over 4 years is gonna be lots of fun.
Was Benny Moss responsible for bringing in Booker?
Lutz/Moss. There’s a connection from their Pfeiffer days apparently.
We’ve gone through having every other one of our non-signed verbal committments re-open their recruiting, whats the word on Booker?
He’s already signed. Doesn’t that = done deal?
The Spring signing period doesn’t begin until next week according to a post at the top. So he hasn’t been able to officially sign yet.
And even a LOI isn’t a done deal, a player can ask out and if they are denied they can go to a prep school and the college has no way of stopping them. Some guy we were recruiting for a little bit did that when Tennessee hired their new coach last summer.

SNUBBEDD!!… DB should’ve been Mr. Basketball, but I guess you can’t complain too much, since he was next on the list at 1st team All-State.
Today is signing day, have we heard anything yet?
tick, tick, tick, no word…
Done deal. Might have even been a press conference just a while ago…
