This is the reason C-USA talk was the greatest message board of all time. I have never been on anything close to it before or since. And there were people on 24/7.
Nothing to bring everyone together like an outsider coming in hahaha

Truth… That place ruled
5 times.
3 times in the 80s.
Once in the 90s.
Once in the past decade.
lol. Well, when talking about ECU basketball, they probably consider beating a team 5 times in over 20+ years “plenty of times”.
Ummmmmm… yeah…

And Mempiss. And Gonzaga. And so on and so forth.
Huh? First you brag about NCAAs, top 25 wins, NBA picks, and even beating us (although that has been seldom). The you turn around in the very next sentence and admit you haven’t had much success.
Before you go to far, ECU is very similar to Charlotte in many ways. You guys have been competitive with the ACC for many years in football, and we’ve been competitive with the ACC for many years in basketball. We have even beaten them in some of our worst years. Brag about football all you want. But you need to prove it on the court before you can talk shit about basketball.

See? that is exactly what I am saying. My brother is an ECU alum. I respect them for their great football program. Hell, until 2013 i’ll keep pulling for them, but to think that this somehow equates to great basketball is just ridiculous!
Hawaii, Fresno St, Central Fl, seem to get more attention than Sleazy U.

on the money with that statement pb. i miss cusa-talk. we had some shit kicking moments with those cinci and memphis state fans.
and where does this jonesing person get his information? i’m thinking he needs to find a new source.
Question: Didn’t the coach we just fired get an interview at ECU? Or was that all a rumor?
If so, I think that speaks for itself.
They interviewed him. Rumor had it that Lebo and Lutz were the top 2 candidates.
nm
Opposed to hiring a coach that has never won a game? Ok. You can call Lebo a retread but he’s the same age as your “young” coach, and while your coach is inexperienced and getting his on the job training Lebo already has 12 years of head coaching experience in 3 different situations to draw on. Most of it was very successful, especially at this level. It’s easy to look good sitting beside someone, Lebo is proven solid at this level, for all you know you could have hired Benny Moss 2 that runs your program into the ground like that UNCC guy did Wilimington.

Yet they can’t fill up a 34k seat stadium… Service academies are a bit of anomalies and hard to measure though with their national fan base, ill give you that. Still you can’t find me another “non BCS” team besides BYU, that can average the 50k we do now. There isn’t even a close at 3rd to us. We certainly have one of the largest “non-BCS”, “mid major” whatever you want to call it fan bases and one that is comparable to many mid level “BCS” programs.
If you really belive Gonzaga has a large fan base you really have no concept of where basketball is on he totem pole in college athletics.
Read again. It was a response to your fans comparison of our basketball to your football which you don’t even have at this point. When you do get it, it will be lower level and not even supported very well at that level at that and likely remain there for a long long time based on the budget you had to cut in half and are trying to run it on. It’s not comparable. Your football has light years to go to beat top 25 teams, go to D1 postseason etc, even to play at the D1a level. That was my point.

EZU sucks, that’s why they hired a retread. They are satisfied with where they are in the athletic world.
You are so awful at the internet.
All of this chatter is well and good. But none of it changes the fact that your basketball coach is a tar hole retread and your school colors include purple.
so i take it you aren’t a Ruffin McNeill fan.
We have a football program. It’s in its infancy.
it will be lower level and not even supported very well at that level at that
Besides completely assuming facts not in evidence, and in fact in direct contradiction to the number of seat licenses/season ticket subscriptions we have sold compared to Ga State, I’m wondering what your point is? That it will start out at a lower level? Holy crap. You’re prescient. Omniscient even. Please give me the lotto numbers while you’re on a roll.
And thanks for the revelation. It’s almost as if there was some kind of NCAA rule that you cannot start a program at the D1A level…
It's not comparable. Your football has light years to go to beat top 25 teams, go to D1 postseason etc, even to play at the D1a level. That was my point.
Great point. Doesn’t change the fact that your basketball program is absolutely awful, plays in a dump, and posts depressing records year after year.
You sound like a Duke football fan. Just give it up.
EZU’s success in football is comparable to our success in the mid to late 90s in basketball. Our football team is already more successful than their basketball team.
