ECU vs Charlotte

Whatever it is, I hate that place.

Looks like a post office.

Dayum! I’d feel good about putting Belk Gym up against Minges.

ECU is really going to have to throw a lot of money at that bball area, talk about depressing.

You should have seen it before they raised the roof.

How it was built…in case you are interested

I guess we’re going to take over Minges like we took over Clemson 3 years ago & App 2 years ago. I wasn’t there, but I heard we took over Winthrop, last year.

Nah. They’ll show up for the game since we’re their Super Bowl in hoops.

It was taken over. A lot of it is hazy, but I do remember taking it over.

We were just drunk enough to start an “our house” chant that their fans either could not or cared not to drown out.

Pretty sure that’s a takeover.

Oh yeah I forgot about that. Didn’t their fans not have shoes on or something? I somewhat remember a confrontation about that.

Gill and I also “marked our territory” lol

No shoes? Was he a hippy? Did he step in the “territory” you “marked?” :))

“With a deadline today for would-be ticket buyers to secure their future seats, money had been received Thursday for 1,304 seats, according to a school spokesman, far below the pledged total of more than 5,400 seats.” …CLT Observer.

You couldn’t get 1500 people to pony up a measley $500 bucks. Obviously you guys are headed for the big time with that kind of excitement… Spin all you want you are a LONG way from D1a.

Should be easy as hell to get 50,000 drunk rednecks to go to a football game in the Greenville-Washington, NC metropolis. What else is there to do there on a Saturday, screw a cousin? They have 2 working TVs and 1 working car per trailer park so who wouldn't get drunk and walk down the street to the game?

I don’t really care who it is supporting ECU as long as they come out and pay $40-50 bucks a ticket and have a good time. See unlike your “fans” they actually give $$$. You would love to have 17,000 in your 49er club members giving $6 million + in donations a year and $6 million+ in football ticket revenue. You guys aren’t even in the galaxy with what our fans give. Whats it say that in a city of as large as yours with a school as large as yours you can barely get a 1000 fans to put their money where their mouth is all $500 bucks of it. Pathetic… I’ll take our poor shoeless rednecks anyday of the week know some that drive from CLT every home game.

Please Jonesing! Please! Please! Please! Tell us all about the massive state-wide TV market ECU football has, just like you tell the Big East fans!

Virginia Tech is located in a metropolis and has been on ESPN more than anyone and were the Big East TV cash cow, oh yeah, and the big east kicked Temple and there little philly market out you know. Obviously there is a lot of other factors that matter in TV deals like actual market share and people actually giving a crap about you in your market. It’s beside the point though now CUSA and the MWC are working an alliance deal to get BCS status right now.

Sad thing is your real arena for your big time basketball program only holds 1000 more in capacity. Ouch. The low ceiling is an advantage and makes it loud as hell.

so you can actually hear all 30 people who are there?

Stop making crap up! Geez Louise. Doesn’t matter how much money you do or don’t have from football, your overall athletic program just sucks. PLEASE go sit on your own bench and leave us alone. Here’s an idea: get on a Tar Hole board and bother them for a while.

You should drive by the new athletic village. Along with the football stadium expanson

New Softball, track, tennis, and soccer, stadiums all being built as we speak.

http://www.ecupirates.com/facilities/facility-construction-2010.html

Baseball stadium is aleady one of the 20 nicest in the country. 15 million dollar basketball practice facility on the way next year. Our programs dont suck nor the commitment to them.

We aren’t behind UNCC in the athletic world.

I still dont see how anything in this thread or what Jonesing is arguing that changes the fact that ECU is where basketball goes to die. Maybe I just missed it.
