Fire Ron Sanchez

I know. I compared it to the teams that I mention in all the rest of my points.

In other words, those 49er teams were more talented and more clutch vs a MORE talented Wake team (3 NBA players).

So I got you. You didn’t get me.

I def understand. One game anyone can win. Plus that was only vs. the worst ACC team. What about Pitt, Clemson and the rest over multiple games?

I don’t think C-USA teams would do that well.

Nah, it’s because it’s not worth going back and forth anymore. I still can’t get my head around you thinking Wildnerness (Jr.) is better than Butler (Grad).

No problem. You have your beliefs. I have mine. I’m ok with that.

But can you agree that team was more talented than this team?

I never said they were. I just can’t believe there is that big of a difference in wins and rank. The big guys and depth of the earlier team was by far better.

I would take this years starting lineup and the ‘09-‘10 bench. Looking back Phil Jones came off the bench and only started 4 games.

The school site must have erased Shamari Spears and Shamar Bowden, they aren’t even listed as being on the ‘09-‘10.

You were talking in the present tense both in the part of your post I quoted and subsequent follow up.
You were saying any ACC team would wipe the floor with any CUSA team. I don’t agree. It’s a hypothetical argument since no ACC or CUSA teams play home and home, so anybody can have any opinion they want. Carry on.

Oh so it wasn’t about my original post. Yeah you’re right we almost won. But we didn’t thought did we? Be honest how many times in a 7 game series would we win vs. them?

We played GREAT the 2nd half vs them showed a lot of heart (one of the few times we’ve done that) but it is in no way indicative of how we’d perform vs the ACC as a whole.

We can’t be rigid in our hatred for ANYTHING that we can’t be objective when analyzing success/failure. We lose perspective, which only leads us to bigger failures.

Freshman braswell was 9.65/8.6 average. That’s pretty solid.

Again, your were talking about the dregs of the ACC vs the top of CUSA, not the entire ACC. Please stop moving the goalposts and allow me to have my opinion. Just silently disagree.

Oh so I’m the one that shouldn’t post haha.

Exactly so why are you bringing up a top three ACC team if you’re explicitly pointing out that I referred to bottom of the ACC???

Anyone understand that logic?

Trapp played the 2nd most minutes on a clemson team that danced. Braswell was the first guy off tge nench at the end of tge season for cuse. Both would start at those programs this season. Musa started 28 fames over his career at osu. Butler was near the top of the patriot league in 7 or 8 statistical categories. Playing in the ACC doesnt make you good. Look at BC’s roster, pitt, cuse, ga tech.

I would take this year’s team if Lutz was coaching them and Sanchez was coaching the other team.

We cannot compare rankings across the teams as 2 different systems were used.

That’s my point. Is it talent or coaching?

I thought the shipped sailed on that post but I’ll be glad to go over it again.

They transferred bc they couldn’t get anymore PT. Why else would they transfer here? Jallow gets hurt too much. Do I even have to mention that considering his unfortunate injury last game.

Serious the Patriot league? Wow, ok. Yes he’s in the top of a lot of their records. That just proves my point. He stepped up in leagues and isn’t producing nearly the same.

Hahahah so hold on. Let me get this straight. Braswell in top all-time rebounds and blocks. Phil Jones one of the best shot-blockers we’ve ever had. Goldwire, one of the best shooters and top scorers in our history. Dijuan Harris also in the annuls for top assists in a season.

No yeah it’s all coaching they had little talent before they got here

Please hahahahah?!?!

We are talking about a season in which the ACC has lost games to the following non power conference teams:

The Citadel
Miami U
Navy
Furman
UCF
Rhode Island
St. Bonaventure
Saint Mary’s
VCU
UMBC
Dayton
Monmouth
Albany
Richmond
WKU
JMU
Wright State
Saint Louis
Memphis

The one power conference loss I will mention was to Georgetown - the same team that is winless in BE play.

I agreed that they are down. But what about the ACC does everyone hate that we can’t admit they are an overall better basketball conference? Is our ego that damn big??

Guys, can’t we love the Niners and be objective when assessing our team and be realistic when comparing them to other teams??

What I am saying is if Lutz was the coach this year and coached them for 4 years and vice versa for Sanchez, you will look at the players talent differently.

Lutz uses the strengths of each player.

Sanchez puts you into a system without caring about your strengths.

It is 2 different styles of coaching,

Actually, I don’t hate the ACC. And they are one of the best basketball conferences. It’s just that they aren’t - to quote one of our 2022 recruits - “arguably the best conference in the country”!

Honestly, I’m glad you said that. I thought I was alone in how I felt about the ACC.
