Amen. Whether itâs a coaching issue or a talent issue Sanchez & staff are ultimately responsible.
For some on here, if you donât hate the coach (no matter who it is today), you are either mislead or dumb.
I love the Niners and root for them to win every game. I think our talent level, overall, is good but we do lack in some areas. Is that on coaches and their recruiting, yes. Is that on some of our players to step up, yes.
We are a good team that can win on any given night against a lot of teams. We also can lose on any given night against a lot of teams.
If you are paying any attention to the NCAA this year you have seen every team get beat. Some of the top teams have lost to some much lesser teams. Even getting blown out.
I believe we can make some noise in the CUSA tournament and get to the tournament. I also believe we could lose day one.
That is where we are. Will assess at the end of the year.
I do know that no matter what Ron does, there will 4-5 true die hard every coach we have sucks posters that will continue this thread or start a new one for our next coach.
Yup. There are some strange new relentlessness in favor of Ronnie. I am not talking about the longtimers, for or against Mr Paycheck.
To be clear. Nowhere in all of my posts in this thread did I say that Ron Sanchez SHOULDNâT be fired.
I said there isnât as much talent as some suggest. So that shouldnât be the only or main reason for judging whether or not he should be retained.
Well, to be clear, I also feel itâs possible for a previous team to have more talent than this yearâs team AND for this yearâs team to have underachieved thus far.
That sounds reasonable. If the team has underachieved this year then question is by how much. A couple of games? Then that could be attributed to a lot of smaller issues within the games lost. If itâs several games well then I think itâs not just smaller issues.
I personally believe we should have a better record. 17-6 max. Thatâs with us winning close games vs. La Tech, Wake, and playing better to beat NT and Drexel.
I donât think we should rush to say the sky is falling, yet. We still have some games left in the regular season. Hopefully not one and done in the C-USA tourney. I agree with dlb letâs see how this shakes out, then decide.
Just to bring back the discussion of the original topic
Iâd like to think today was the final nail in the coffin.
Our fanbase is so whipped. I donât know how you ever overcome this.
Our fan base is whipped, but today was not the final nail in the coffin. Like it or not.
We used to be âwait till next yearâ. I donât see there being hope in next year.
I cant take another year of sanchez. If he isnt fired im not going to watch a single game. That would be the first time ive done that in 20 years. This is just absurdity at this point.
We have the resources to run a good program. How laughably bad weve been just shows how awful the decision making has been. Need to hire a winner and not a cub scout troop leader.
On the road at a #115 rated slightly above average team at best and we led once at 7-5 the entire game.
MTSU basically led from start to finish and the game was never in doubt after halftime.
Completely unacceptable on every level.
Mike Hill says his expectation is for us to compete for Conference ChampionshipsâŚwell this ainât it.
You gotta win games like this and expect to win games like this and the one at home vs La TechâŚI didnât expect us to win either (iâm sure no one else really did either). Neither of those teams are very good and we canât beat either one of them and probably would be lucky to win 1 in a best of 5 with either of them.
Year 1 gets a pass and maybe year 2âŚbut after 4 years.
This is the complete opposite of Gold Standard Mike.
Are you serious or not?
Has anyone on this board watched ACCN special docu-series on ACC mens basketball? CLT is so far behind itâs not funny anymore. This program would struggle against a pickup game with a Charlotte Y or CPCC squad. Pitiful.
Going into the conference tournament we will be 16-14 or 17-13. Will that get him fired? I do not know but would expect it to be driven by the big donors.
For me, the version of the Niners I expected this year is exactly what MTSU portrayed today. They work hard, hustle and 9 to 10 guys play over 10 minutes a games.
I donât see us winning 3 more games in regular season. Not playing like that. Figure 2-4 the rest of the way for 15-15. A perfect statement of Ronâs mediocrity.
@ Marshall, @ southern Miss and FIU should be wins. That puts us at 16. We play better at home so might pull off an upset against FAU or MTSU.
No way in hell we beat those teams on the road. We are the worst Niner road team I have ever seen. Iâd do the research to prove itâs true but I just donât care anymore. We are awful.
We are bad on the road. Did beat FIU and Rice on the road. Last time I looked, we were predicted to go15-15.
However I do expect us to get at least one more win than that. We will know in 3 weeks either way.
Who are the big donors? If they support Sanchez, weâre screwed. For one, I have zero faith in Hill to make a move.
I wouldnât call any road game a game this team should win. I think we win 2 or 3 more total & thatâs probably it.
