Fire Ron Sanchez

Well, if we maintain at #5, can’t lose in the first round in Frisco.

Great to have 18 wins and maybe get 20 and maybe win a tournamet game…then someone will be calling and Ron will be outta here like a felon escapee and people will be bitching because we stuck with him and he bolted for greener pastures :smirk:

No one is calling Ron, trust me

I think it’s the feeling that we are improving late in the season and getting hot at the right time. The past years we just cave per usual. Exciting times right now! Let’s get 2 more and make it 6 in a row. Support this team!

I hope Ron wins the cusa tournament and gets another year added to his contract. But if he doesn’t and we are 5th in CUSA, Hill needs to hire a new coach. 5 years is PLENTY of time for a coach to prove himself.

You are an idiot. Hill is not firing Ron after his best season. Yes we need to do something in March but there is zero chance he gets fired. ZERO.

Should he be fired and will he be fired are different things. You stated that you think he won’t be fired, do you think he should if he is 5th in CUSA and doesn’t win CUSA tourney?

I am not sure why you think he should be fired. I am not happy with the inconsistencies this year but you have to acknowledge progress.

If he cannot compete to win CUSA in the 5 years he has been here, you gotta try something else. I don’t wanna settle for 5th in CUSA.

Gotcha. I would prefer that we be competing for the league but in reality, when was the last time that happened? When Major won 21 games, he was .500 in the A10 so we have not competed for a league title in a hell of a long time.

If Sanchez finishes 5th in CUSA and doesn’t make the cusa tournament finals, I’m okay with giving Sanchez another year?

I understand… I believe you have to keep turning over coaches every 4-5 years until you land one that does. 5th in CUSA sucks. The last almost 20 years has sucked. Why prolong it just because 5th is better than 10th.

Major also had a soft OOC schedule when he won 21 games. No chance Sanchez makes the NIT this season.

Don’t think that you may be wrong and a coaching change should be made but with the currently late season wins I don’t think Hill will consider a change. I don’t know of anyone on this board that doesn’t want us to be better and compete for both conference championships and NCAA bids.

Thus, thinking Ron should be fired and believing he will be retained are two different things.

respectfully, what progress? we win more at home, so does everyone. As far as I can tell our plan is to drag everyone down to our level. Football isn’t accepting middle of the pack, why should basketball?

G5 programs don’t fire coaches after 20 wins and a decent showing in the confer tournament

18 wins for the first time in over a decade.

This!!! A decade. And yet we should fire!!! Pathetic

Just remember, if you are using total wins as the reason to not fire a coach, make sure to include SOS into that equation.

5th in CUSA is more telling than our win total imo

Yeah the SOS is weak but it is what it is….we have had similarly weak schedules in the last decade and won less games, hence progress.
