Football Coach Candidates?

They will pay more. They are building an on campus stadium with a roof at a whopping projected $350,000,000.

You can flag the truth to hide from the truth, but you can’t change the truth because you have hurt feelings.

I haven’t seen anywhere where USF has discussed how they plan on raising the money. There is a reason they didn’t build a stadium off the bat, it’s expensive. I am not familiar with Florida funding riles so it’s certainly possible they can use state funding for facilities where we can not. What we released is what we know we can fund and build. We shall see what they manage to fund raise and build.

They have about 60% more students than we do so I don’t doubt they can spend more than we can

They also owe Jeff Scott around $10,500,000 still, so yeah they will definitely be paying. For a while.

That’s why they hung onto him so long despite his abysmal record. They couldn’t afford to fire him.

I’ll believe that USF stadium when they actually break ground. They’ve been trying to do that for ages.

Ouch. We couldn’t owe one coach over $10 million to coach, much less to not coach. Cumulative maybe considering our basketball and football past and future trajectories

Just a factoid I heard on fnz this morning: former Dabo assistants who became HCs have all failed miserably. So there’s that.

I was making sure the recruits around us (we sit in 102) knew we might hire WKU’s head coach. LOL!

If they were Healy’s recruits, what good could they really be?

jeff scotts failure and the money he is owed is a good example of why I don’t want to go the coordinator route this round with what we are trying to accomplish in trying to establish the football program

We are not in over our heads going into the AAC.

We have already been conference mates with almost the entire conference and a lot of that was when we were at our peak at basketball.

If we make the right hire for football all this negativity will go away.

And please god let the AAC membership help basketball recruiting.

We have to get back on track there. Y

These AAC jobs are more coveted than I think many people realize. It’s easy to shit on a program that is having a bad run, but it’s still an FBS job paying a pretty nice salary. There are only so many of them, and living in Charlotte is certainly not a strike against the job.

Coaches want to coach ball. Million dollar jobs don’t grow on trees. Some media types love to throw ice water on on the open AAC jobs but they will draw broad interest.

We need to make our AAC program more coveted with coaches and recruits by dropping shovels in the dirt on November 21st.

Play time is over, or we’re going to get schooled.

Someone close to the program please clear something up for me. How much can we afford for a coach? Some on this forum are stating that we can afford to pay $1M + for a coach. If we had to borrow money to pay Healey more, how can we afford $1M+? Someone that is close enough to the program to know- pleae explain.

Well off the top our payout from AAC is going to be a good sized I crease from CUSA. Even first year.
