Leavitt was DC at KSU from 92-95, during that time they went from 5-6 to, 9-2-1, 9-3, to finally 10-2 finishing 2nd in the Big 8.
Lambert is DC at WF from 08-10, during that time they went 8-5, 5-7, 3-9, finishing 11th in the ACC.

Point taken.
Of course, everyone is clamoring over a guy who had the following records in the ACC:
8-4, 7-5, 11-3, 8-5, 5-6, 7-5, and 3-9. And he never finished above .500 in conference his last 4 years.
I feel like 49er Football is Dead On Arrival as long as Minnie Mouse is in charge

Yes, but how many times has Lambert had a recruiting class that yielded 3 first round draft picks?
Also, how much money has Lambert raised for the school? How many new facilities were built as a result of Lambert being the DC?
I think thatās one of the things people miss with Amato ⦠people who are excited about him are excited because of more than his coaching / recruitment alone - people are excited because they think he can build the program.
Good grief. Iāve never in my time here seen a topic make so many people look like kindergartners (and that is saying a lot). Seriously, many of yall are acting like 5 year olds. Chill out.

edit: blah, nm. image too big.
Amato isnāt in the equation anymore.
I just read that John Gruden will be our new Coach. I wrote it down, then read it.
First round draft picks donāt come to start up FCS programs, no matter who the coach is.
Also, how much money has Lambert raised for the school? How many new facilities were built as a result of Lambert being the DC?
Not his job to do either. And the pockets run far deeper at Moo U than here. And they were an established program. And they were BCS.
I think that's one of the things people miss with Amato .. people who are excited about him are excited because of more than his coaching / recruitment alone - people are excited because they think he can build the program.
People also miss that he did all of that at a BCS school, with an established program, tons of support already there and plenty of big donors willing to doll out checks. He was also an alumn of the school. He would have none of these things in his favor as a coach here. Itās easy to do big things when you have the resources to make it happen.
I personally think peopleās expectations as to how big a ānameā coach we could get have been over inflated from the start. Had Chuck never made his interest in this job so public what kind of coach were you all expecting? One need only look at USF, UAB, ODU to see the most likely kind of candidate we would get. Possibly a former head coach at the FCS level, most likely an assistant from a FBS school.
Chuck wonāt be our coach. So if those of you are in the NBC club and havenāt purchased your sackcloth for the wailing and gnashing of teeth you need to get on it.
For those who support this school and this program but wanted Chuck, move past it and prepare to be on board with whoever we hire. The new coach deserves that much from our fans.

MK, you are spot on! Very well said.
My one requirement it that it be a man. Iām not for anything ground breaking from a sexual diversity perspective.
S9er, your avatar reminds me of Sideshow during his time here in the Pep Band. Disturbing.

Lambert is one of the good guys in this business, and coach Jim Grobe was just raving about him on Wednesday. Lambert will get his head coaching opportunity eventually, but itās good news for the Deacs that heāll be sticking around. Heās one of the best recruiters on the staff, and is a major reason behind the programās success during Grobeās tenure.
