Green Line

Say what 49er1? What’s BS?

You need to go over that guy’s head.

Start with a City Council member. I think the campus is in District 4?

His bio says he serves on the Transportation Committee.

Green or Gold, that color can be changed if you talk to the right people.

I wrote back and asked if the Gold Line was possible. Guess we'll find out.

Keep fighting.

The bureaucrat is playing games with you (I know 'cause I used to BE a bureaucrat myself :hammer: ) He’s pretending to confuse this:

He said that the color green was off-limits, yet green is used for the north line! Point out that you’re asking to reverse the blue and green lines. Don’t be surprised if he continues to make s*** up. Letters don’t make a lot of difference if they’re written to a private company, but you’d be surprised at the impact to government officials (they’re supposed to serve the public).

Is there anyone on the board who is close to any politician types?

From my perspective, the only one on this board that sounds like a moron is YOU!

Not much into the name-calling but when the shoe fits that well…

The simple fact that you are using your time to discredit something that is obviously important to others shows your true colors (and I hope its not green).

If you visited the site more often you would realize we are not all “college kids”.

Sorry for calling an “old-fart” like you a college kid. In my opinion, that would be a compliment. My true color is green and if you are not too old and blind to see from my previous posts, I think it is a great idea. However, I don’t think that CATS will change it just because of a request of a couple of college students! I guess I can say a couple of old people who graduated 10 years ago. No I am not trying to offend you by calling you old but but when the shoe fits that well…

@$#*@$#!! No one from CATS has emailed me yet. I may have to resend… I will eventually get a response.

What that CATS dude said is BS. We need to keep on this and make sure they know we just want to switch colors with the line that goes to lake norman. IT’S JUST THAT SIMPLE. We should not make it more than that or they will just brush us off. FOCUS!!!

Threads like this should be locked after the first post. If people here feel the need to start a shit-slinging competition over changing the color of a transit route. Maybe i’m adding to it now…

This is the dudes reply about the Gold Line idea:
Gold is used in the Logo for the LYNX brand to represent the gold rush
heritage that the Charlotte region has. See attached graphics. We
already have the Gold Rush service using the gold color and name. Also,
remember there is more than one university / college in the region and 4
of them would be on different LYNX lines. Trying accommodate each
school would prove to be futile.
I dont even really know what he is talking about here. It does sorta sound like he is BSing a little. But I dont know much about burecrats or politic stuff like this; it seems to be that if it was possible, he wouldnt object. If you guys think it IS possible and think you know how to get people to help us get the Green/Gold line, then ill give my support all the way. I would have no idea who to talk to or how to go about making an argument for a green line.

I don’t even care, i’m 23 now and i’ll be old and gray before they even start on the line to University City. 485 was proposed in the late 1970’s and it still isn’t finished. I heard the mayor say recently that light rail was only moving into areas that made financial sense (not the current line does) and lines to the airport, Huntersville, and University City did not make financial sense at the present time. We are probably more likely to see a football team (which I think will never happen) before light rail on campus.

Bingo. We need to get in touch with the right people. Come on guys!!!

I think it’s pretty certain they want light rail in this part of town. They have a survey out on it http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=862801917258 that was just availed to us recently.

In the “Other” sections I put “only if it is called the green line”

NLP, I sent them another email about the green line name change and gave specific instructions for them to email me back. They did not email me the first time.

I just emailed Michael Barnes. I’ll let you know if I hear anything.

You don’t want yo mess wit Olaf…he will F you up…

clt will make this happen.

Thanks for bringing this up again. I just took the survey and made it clear the line should be the GREEN line. Come on folks! It’s time to step up for the green. If you don’t, the line to the school will be that blue shade we all find disgusting and the independent Charlotte identity we all want so badly will take yet another undeserved hit. NOW GO DO IT!!!

Hello.

As you probably know, none of the rail issues/decisions have been finalized, but I will pass along your thoughts. Thanks.

And Jimmy, we still boys.
