I hate to sound like a broken record, but to everyone who is expecting the same Phil as last year or that he will lose his scoring chances to other players, I cannot stress enough how hard he appeared to be working to improve and make sure his scoring chances only go up. Did I see him on the court? No, but I did see him on campus almost every day. Then I went about 2 weeks without seeing him around, and the next time I saw him I had to make sure it was him because he had slimmed down so much. Similar thing happened with Spears too, but expect Jones to bust it to compete with the new talent.

Probably b/c last season there were reports he dropped weight and was in better condition and still had issues playing more than 20 mins a game due to conditioning.

I wouldn't mind seeing a few techs from Jones this year.

Exactly. We need for him to stop being so timid out on the court. We need more aggressiveness and toughness from all of our bigs this year. I’m sure Spears, Braswell, and Sherrill will bring more of that this season. Someone needs to.

Well I mean he slimmed down overall, but he looked really cut up so I think he’s working on that for ya.
So…how about that Jamar Briscoe? Didn’t know if you guys had heard, but he’s transferring here. There is a thread about him around here somewhere.

Big Big Time talent, named to two All-American teams 08-09 season. He would have been one of the top 5pg in the A-10 this year as a freshman if he had played in that conference.Gave Aaron Jackson and the Dukes 34pts at their place. Duquense fans gave this kid standing ovation.
He still has 4 years to develope and could be one of the best backcourt men to ever play at Charlotte.

I hope that comes true. He’ll be learning behind one of the conference’s best PG’s this year.

Charlotte have two of the best D1 PGs in the state on same team.
Great situation to be in.

Link?
Would it make sense to have a thread for each player on the team, maybe one for each coach, one for Judy, one for the chancellor and then when you have a comment about one of them, you put it under that thread?

Cibik02’s TOP 5 Reasons not to…
-
Makes too much sense
-
Players could get jealous over number of comments posted and thread views and could start tension which could cause a riot in the locker rooms
-
Too many negative post in one easy to find place about one player can be demoralizing to self-esteem
-
Bobby already has a few threads of his own. I don’t think he needs or would want more threads about him. They’ll pop up after the season starts.
-
Time is valuable and should be spent in the Pole Vault thread. Gotta have your priorities in order people!
Thanks for the great news Jim.
Looks like a baller. Can’t wait to see him on the court.
Kid loves to shoot. He’ll love playing for Bobby.
Interesting, looking at the footage against NC State you can see that they used him at the 2 as well as at point. With some success too, so that may give us more options than I had initially figured with his arrival.
