OK I am not sure of how many on here have noticed or heard of the newer theories being discussed so I will share. The idea is that Episode 1 of season 2 opened with a guy exercising and injected some serum into himself... he also made a health chake with fresh (FRESH?) fruit. The hatch looks very clean and tidy, yet when Jack and Kate and Locke are in the hatch it is VERY dirty and disorganized. The idea is that who we all thought was Desmond was actually someone else and that it was much much earlier... perhaps while the experiments were being conducted?
I disagree regarding the hatch. We first see Desmond in his living quarters area which is nice and clean. I believe in the next episode we see Locke in this same area and it’s still nice and clean. I think since the other areas of the bunker are not his living quarters he may not keep them as clean. I think what they showed all took place at the same time.
Agreed. Obviously, that’s a pretty elaborate underground network. I think that Desmond’s actual living/eating environment is totally separate from the other areas.
Then again, I can see how that theory could be established. The first environment we see is certainly quite the contrast from where the computer is. However, I’m gonna go with CPA’s response on this one.
Just a theory… who knows… this show is crazy, and I love it.
Lamp could just be a set/prop goof. Happens all the time in TV/movies. Not sure about the 2nd set of pics though. It’s an interesting theory nonetheless.
I think some people have too much time on their hands to be capturing images from TV.
I don’t see why they would bring in a new lamp. Shouldn’t the vinyl seats be ripped? I would think that would be the first thing to go, more wear and tear possibilities than a lamp going bad. I guess this is all the more reason to by the DVD’s so you can look for this kind of thing.
I wonder how many clues were dropped on episodes that some deem to be uninteresting?
ok… i just got around to watching this weeks episode. IMO it was different… but in a good way. Everything had been pretty intense (with the hatch and all, and with the raft, etc.). This episode definately showed the black/white extremes of the two groups. The have’s and the have-not’s. I think thats ultimately why Hurley wanted to give the food out now. That type of atmosphere, while it would have created good drama among the main group, really didn’t fit with some of their characters, and it woulda been odd for them to have to play it out (albeit america and the populations tendancy to watch crap like springer/povich probably would have enjoyed it). I see the show hitting on extremes like this. the other main one being science/faith. I think this episode is just the calm before the storm. I expect it to quickly ramp up over the next 2 episodes and start bringing all the questions/theories back into play. like… who the f*** are the others?
I must admit when the “savage” group lead our 3 captives back to part of the hatch… that had me.
And Kate takin da shower? gratuitous as anything thus far… and wonderful
I also enjoyed the hurley backstory. Shows why he really has a distain for the numbers. That said i was impressed he actually pressed the button (i assume he did after he was woken up). I still think its only a matter of time before he doesn’t. And when he doesn’t… if things are still as they are… I bet it creates huge drama (ie vital scenarios) for the “savage” group’s side of the hatch.

If the island turns out to be inhabitated by gnomes… Im thru watching the show.
I definitely think this was a paving episode. The tail section people seem to be occupying one experiment’s hatch, the main group another experiment’s hatch, and the others (extrapolated from Walt’s appearance) occupy yet another experiment’s hatch.
Looks also like the tail section people have been killed off in pretty big numbers, presumably by the others as the little preview snip-it foreshadows. I was actually thinking at first that maybe they were getting sick, but maybe that only happens if you hang out around Black Rock too long.
Did Jack “kill” the monster that’s part of the defense system when he threw the dynamite in the hole? You’d think at a minimum Locked would go back and investigate the hole he was being dragged into, since he was so keen on being “tested” by the island.
I think next week’s episode is going to be a big one.
seeing as how I downloaded and watched it, I didn’t get the preview of next week. We know that what 23? originally survived from the tail end? but we don’t actually know how many are left, and what happened to the rest (were they taken, did they die, was it lord-of-the-flies-esque, etc.). Should be good stuff in the upcomming weeks. This was one of those episodes which answers 1 question (whats gonna happen to mike/sawyer/jin) and but raises more (multiquestions on the tail section, what is in the cemented area, do those underground pipes have anything to do with the defense system, when are we going to see kate take another shower, etc. etc. etc.).
OK enough with the flashbacks, lets move the story along on the island. I liked the flaskbacks last year, but this year they are way to repeditive and for the most part boring.

ok... i didn't mind the flashback this episode as much as I did the general non-story with the backhalf folks. I mean come on. There was 0 conflict. but biggest of all.... after mike runs off to find walt solo... jin/echo somehow miraculously find him (or mike finds jin), and then they causually say come back with us, and he does?!?!?! blah. seemed like a rediculous waste of time, and they could have created the same feeling (and had) without it. definately the most non spectacular episode thus far.

Would agree with that. There wasn't a single let-down episode last season and this season has already had two. I used to never leave my seat during an episode of Lost. Last night, I found myself going to the kitchen, checking emails and stoking a fire while it was on. They need to get back to the elements of the first season that made it so entertaining. The flashbacks are very informative but I agree that they are saturating the show with them. Let's hope these aren't signs that the writers and running out of creativity.

Well, they showed how Jin became connected to Sun and that he wasn't always a bad guy. But other than that, I agree that they were a bit pointless last night.
Geez, what do you guys want another CSI where all you get is a story and absolutely no idea who the characters on the show are?
I think it’s been going a bit slow but the flashbacks are what makes Lost, Lost. There showed one day on the island yesterday, not everyday is going to be eventful. I still think by the end of this season we’ll all be saying wow!!
I like Echo, he seems to be a good guy but I don’t care for Michelle Rodriguez (sp) character. She needs to lighten up a bit.
Now, has anyone wondered why Walt is going to appear to Shannon but doesn’t appear to Michael?
As far as Michelle lightening up, she is probably a little uptight because she was in a plane crash and stranded on a deserted island with 22 other people for several months with no sign of rescue and 18 of you fellow survivors have been slaughtered by some strange “other” people inhabiting the island. She is the Jack of the tail section survivors, that is why they will end up screwing…
And JCL, stoking a fire??? WTF? Do you really think that’s going to get you laid??

Well, I wasn't in front of the fire by myself Jimmy so apparently, it didn't really hurt.
