Lost (May Contain Spoilers!!)

The Sopranos ending was pretty bad, but they thought they were going to make movies so they had to keep the story alive. The last season of the Sopranos was one of its weaker seasons to begin with. Still one of the best shows of the past few decades though.

Regardless of how the show ends some people will love it, some will hate it. I’m not going to base my opinion on a show on the last episode. I haven’t enjoyed any show as much as I have Lost. They’ve done a very good job with this series so whatever they come up with for the end, I’ll just accept it.

Luke 4:24: And He said, “Truly I say to you, no prophet is welcome in his hometown.”[/quote]

I agree with you CPA, the final season of Lost has been one of the better seasons of the show, but most people will judge it by how it ends. I think that’s unfair, especially since they will not answer every little question like some people think they should.

That being said, the producers have said that (unlike the Sopranos) there is no more story to tell after the series ends, so I do not think there will be a lame ending. I do think a loop ending is possible, but I think it will be more like the one I outlined if they go that route. They’ve already done the sitting on the plane thing again, so no way they use that as the ending.

How about Sawyer and Jack as the new Jacob and MiB with a plane crashing and Jack telling Sawyer that he’s going to kill him one day? (Jack is the new MiB obv.)

Jack as the new MIB doesn’t fit his nature. It would be an interesting twist but I know I would not be satisfied because it’s not in Jack’s nature to be evil. I don’t see how you build him up to be good guy only to make him evil at the end of the show, I think it would insult viewers. I also don’t see Sawyer hanging around the island for eternity, he wants off and will probably die trying rather than be anointed by Jacob or MIB to stick around. I think he may still be angry at Jack but we have seen through his sideways he’s still a good guy (cop).

How soon we have forgotten Juliet, remember what she said, “It worked.” I think we’ll see Sawyer and Juliet together when the show ends.

If the show ends like you suggest someone replacing Jacob and MIB then I say Ben and Widmore, Ben becomes the new Jacob because he’s the good guy as he has always said.

I’m curious about Hurley, his role has increased. He seems to be the new Richard. Ben used to go to Richard to find out what Jacob wanted, now Jacob is communicating with Hurley, he even appears to Hurley instead of Richard. So maybe Hurley sticks around on the island and takes Richard’s spot.

Personally I doubt any of my predictions will happen because I’m never right with this show and the writer’s always come up with something more clever. I actually hope my predictions are wrong because the writers have come up with better storylines than I could ever imagine. But I will stick with Ben being the good guy, that’s the only prediction I’ve stuck with for the entire show and I may actually be right on that one.

An interesting theory I have been kicking around in my head is that it is not one of them who will replace Jacob it is all of them - so Jack, Hurley, Kate, Sawyer, Sun/Jin, and Sayid (no idea about Locke). Jacob told Illana that she had to protect 6 people. This would be why Dogen said they had to have Sawyer back and if they couldn’t get him then they were all dead. Of course this theory gets messed up because Dogen then tries to Kill Sayid - hell I have no idea what I am talking about.

I do think Jack could be the bad guy - Jack views the world through his own prism of what is good and bad. He has made very poor choices based on what HE wants. Sawyer on the other hand, at his core, is a good guy and a natural leader. Sawyer wants off the island because he has no reason to stay there (Juliet), but if he were given purpose then he would IMO.

I hate to get of topic, but I thought the ending of sopranos ws awesome. It left u in Tonys shoes. But it did leave it open and that sucked. But we do know the ending will be the ending so I’m grateful. I am tired of considering possibilities lol

Heads up - don’t look at the Lost S6 wiki page unless you want to read some minor spoilers. They have all of the episode titles, a lot of the centrics, and the list of the returning characters.

I wish there was a spoiler tag feature on this site. If there was, I’d talk about how potentially awesome E15 could be.

As long as nothing good happens for Kate I will be happy. Always putting her nose where it doesn’t belong and making tons of assumptions that are never right, it drives me crazy. I’m all for Jack putting “one” between her eyes. On the other hand I was a huge fan of Juliet. She could actually think her way through situations instead of all those crazy emotional responses that Kate has.

Hello Friend.

Here’s an interesting link about Lost and the Bible.

I think this is one of the reason’s this show is so polarizing for people. It has connotations to not only forms of religion, but history, and ofcourse puts a sci-fi twist to it. It just does a really good job of spinning everything together, to give itself multiple avenues to explore along with having some backup/context in history (in some ways).

I’m looking at the Last Supper pic again from your link and maybe saw some things that I didn’t see before the season started.

Draw an imaginary line between Locke & Jack. On the left (Locke’s side), you have Sayid playing Judas to Kate & Sawyer. And you also have Claire who, like Sayid, is poisoned by the MiB.

Could that image be a clue as to where the season is going? It would put people like Hurley, Miles, Lapidus, Jin, and Sun on Jack/Jacob’s side. Future episodes, I guess, could have Ilana and Richard “tipping the wrong way”.

It clearly has Jack and Sawyer in the 2 main and possibly contrasting positions. It confirms to me that they play a major role in however this gets resolved.

That last line really relates eh…

Good find, I like the analysis. This is what the Gf and crew were talking about.

Im starting to get on the ‘there is no evil person’ bandwagon, but more of a ying-yang.

Here’s how I’m viewing this unless I’m told otherwise by watching the show:

Jacob - God/Jesus
Bacoj (as I call him) - Devil

Jacob brings people to the island to prove to Bacoj that people can be good no matter what but Bacoj always gets in the way and leads them to do wrong. It reminds me so much of Adam and Eve and the Garden of Eden.

I think that from the beginning the people on the island, all of them, are not really real. The real Jack, Kate, Sawyer etc… are the ones that we have been seeing in the flash-sideways. The island version of all of them are simply their souls or whatever you want to call them. They have been summoned there by Jacob. Even when they got off the island and went back, it wasn’t real. If anything, it proved what happens to a soul when it is not redeemed (Jack became a drug addict and wanted to kill himself, Hurley became crazy again, Sayid became a killer, Sun was filled by greed, and Kate was constantly on the run unable to settle no matter how hard she tried).

I think we’re heading towards a finale where some souls will be redeemed and others will not which will result in some of the flash-sideways losties living out good lives while others continue to suffer.

Two very good episodes in a row. With Desmond up next week, the writers have a good chance for the hat trick. Desmond’s S2 and S4 centrics are still my favorite of the entire series. I am now officially a buyer of the theory that somehow he is going back and forth between the realities based on his EMC exposure.

My other theory is he can counteract Smokey somehow. If he can, Sayid will be sure to take him out.

Random thoughts:
Jin in room 23 was cool.
Widmore’s team was smart enough not to shoot Smokey.
So if Smokey can’t convince candidates to join their side they have to die right?
Please let Claire kill Kate in a cat fight scene.

I hate all you guys that want to see Kate die. I heart Kate!

I thought last night’s episode was ok. Couple of thoughts:
Sun no longer being able to speak english, could this be the bridging of the two timelines?

Illana still doesn’t trust Ben.
Great line by Miles, Hurley couldn’t find Richard unless he was covered in bacon grease!
I didn’t realize the translator was eye patch guy from a few seasons ago.
Sayid doesn’t feel anything? Kind of creepy. Claire seems to have more feeling than Sayid, she obviously feels anger towards Kate.
Sun cut herself just like Jack had a cut on his neck, no idea what that could mean.
Finally Desmond shows up! I don’t understand how he is the key but I’m assuming he will bring the timelines together.
Glad to see the island’s powers will play a role.
Sun is not trying to escape from Jin in her sideways.
Next week’s preview we hear Amazing Grace, could this mean someone dies? That was my first impression, or should we look at the lyrics of the song? I was once “lost” but now am found, was blind but now I see. Maybe we will have a major revelation next week.

The bridging of two time lines crossed my mind last night too.

And I hope Kate dies. But gets nekkid first.

I thought Desmond had figured out how to control his time traveling? He’s already put in motion Danial Farraday, so I am convinced he will be a linchpin in the showdown between flock and Jacob.

So it really looks like Widmore is a good guy too. Its one of the reason I am jumping on the ‘there all good guys’ wagon. With the exception being Flocke, who appears to be an evil being.

As it stands, what I see is:

Flock vs (Widmore vs Richard vs Losties and Co. [Jack vs Sawyer vs Ben])

This whole season has been big, and every episode i’ve believed was and is bigger then the one before it.

Thought the episode was the best so far too. It felt like an old Lost episode.

CPA, I heart Kate more!

Could do with a lot less V advertisements next week. Sucked when it covered up the Korean translations.

Less advertisements in general would be nice. It seems like half the damn hour is commercials.
