Didnt Jacob tell Richard that he can’t bring people back? I thought I remember Richard asking Jacob to bring his girl back and jacob said he couldnt do that so he let Richard live forever.
Did we know that Whitmore and Eloise were together when they were on the island? I cant remember.
That confused me too. I remembered them mentioning Daniel was Eloise’s daughter, but I don’t remember them saying he was Widmore’s son.

I dont know if he is Widmore’s son. I remember him saying that Penny was his Half Sister. So either Penny is from a different marriage or Daniel is. Either that or there supposed to be step brother/step sister.

I am assuming that Daniel is Eloise’s son with Widmore and Penny is Widmore’s son with another woman.

Jacob told Richard he couldn’t bring back his chick, but he did bring back Dogen’s son but he said he could never see him again. Perhaps he could just see him through the lighthouse mirrors which peer into the ALT universe. Richard’s backstory happened well before the time split so that wasn’t an option.
We do know that Widmore and Hawkins were together on the island. But Widmore had Penny with another woman.
I’m trying to figure out the end game for both MiB and Jacob in this scenario. For MiB it seems obvious - no Jacob influence on the Oceanic 6, island sunk, MiB free, GG.
For Jacob it’s a harder sell. It would have to be part of his larger plan (like letting himself die), where he is able to supersede what MiB is doing in the original timeline.
I think Daniel is Widmore’s son. He told Desmond he knew about sacrifice because he lost his son, hence Daniel. I thought last night’s episode was ok, I prefer to see action on the island as opposed to these flash forwards, sideways, upside, backwards, etc.
Couple of thoughts:
Will Desmond and Penny run into Sawyer and Juliett at the coffee shop?
The smoke monster might be made up of some electromagnetic stuff, hence he can’t kill Desmond.
Last week Sayid said he couldn’t feel anything, does he now feel compassion since he let the girl go rather than killing her? Or did he let her go so that she would tell Widmore?
Widmore made it a point to tell Desmond that Ben shot him, Illana also said last week that she still doesn’t trust Ben. Seems odd considering Ben’s episode was about his redemption yet he still isn’t fully trusted. I still say he’s the good guy.
Beginning to think Widmore sinks the island to keep anyone else from coming on to it, so that this cycle doesn’t start all over again.
Ditto on the action on the island. I liked last weeks episode better. It seems to me that Jack, Sawyer, Locke and Kate are the main characters of the show. When they aren’t involved in an episode, it almost feels like a totally different show.
I liked the constant, I don’t know which one was flashes before your eyes. I have nothing against Desmond, I like his episodes, I just prefer action on the island since those episodes usually include a larger portion of the cast rather than one or two characters.
Flashes Before Your Eyes was when he turned the key and went back and almost bought the ring for Penny before Hawkins convinced him not too. Eerily similar to this past episode.
Exciting episode. Desmond reminded me of Locke or Jacob when they went around talking to everyone.
Micheal’s comments were curious. Its as if he was hinting that the place was purgatory.
So, kind of building on theories, I thought I had was that the flashes that we see are flash forwards after all. It almost seems as if something happens on the island and they are all sent back in their own time line and they have to rediscover their memories.

I dont know. I gotta think this through more!!!
Great episode - the writers have said numerous times that the island is not purgatory, but Michaels words were interesting. The connection between island world and sideways world are coming together. Sure seemed Desmond in sideways knew exactly that Locke had just thrown him down a well.
Did anyone notice the background dialogue in the previews for next week. I am almost positive it is Gene Wilder fromt the original Willy Wonka and the Chaocalate Factory when he and Charlie were in the elevator at the very end as it increased speed before bursting out of the top of the factory. “It does not show any signs of slowing”… A climatic point in the movie.
So is the little boy Locke keeps encountering Jacob from a rebirth standpoint and growing older and stronger.
So Michael and everyone that has wronged someone else (voices) is stuck on the Island. Is this the sin and the sinners that will be let loose if Locke leaves. Is the island the holding bin for all the bad awaiting judgement day.
Where have we seen Libby’s Doctor before. I could not remember but have seen him.
The previews show Locke and Claire as a split face. Does this mean Locke and Claire are one in the same or connected which would mean Jack is also connected or one in the same.
The Willy Wonka song is from when they are on the boat going down the psychdelic tunnel.
Good point on the split face of Locke/Claire. It was obvious Jack took note of Locke only addressing him after they all came out of the brush at the end. I almost wondered if it was similar to how Locke spoke to Sayid first, but then again Jack hasn’t been dipped in some dirty pool or what not.

I wonder if Locke gave him that look because he knows if he has Jack on his side, he can get all the survivors together and get off the island? If I remember correctly, didn’t Locke say that all he really needed was Jack and that the rest would come over?
The reason I am thinking that is because when Jack and Hurley had their conversation he specifically mentioned that he feels he should not be leading, but following. Perhaps with Hurley leading they won’t get brainwashed like Sayid did.
Another great episode. If they can continue this run, this season will easily be my favorite season of the entire series. With the upcoming battle and E15’s centric I am expecting good things.
I was shocked when Illana blew up. I thought she was going to serve a greater purpose this season, but I guess the island was done with her as Ben said. Maybe we will see her again in the ALT.
I can’t imagine island Desmond is dead, but I can’t figure out what exposing him to the EM pocket is going to do. Maybe it simply wasn’t a big enough drop to kill him. ALT Desmond is like Neo showing everyone the light. My theory as to why he hit Locke - he wants ALT Locke to gain knowledge of the MiB and perhaps how to defeat him. Locke will clearly be the hospital with Jack next episode. So I think my hospital theory still holds although it doesn’t appear everyone will be there.
It’s not purgatory since the Losties, etc, are alive, but it does appear that Jacob or the island is keeping the dead souls there and not allowing them to move on.
So is the little boy Locke keeps encountering Jacob from a rebirth standpoint and growing older and stronger.
I thought the boy this week appears to be a younger version of the MiB. Dark hair compared to the light haired boy we saw earlier.
