Mayfield's role

If you were unable to see that Spears and his attitude were inherently problematic to the team, then you were either blind or not as much of a fan as you claimed to be.

Apparently his role is to light it. Bras rolls it.

Thank you.

.

This is why people should keep their mouth shut when it comes to who should or shouldn’t be starting. We are not at practice, team meetings or participate in games. It’s pretty apparent Major knew Mayfield didn’t deserve to start or didn’t have the maturity level to be a starter.

Call me crazy, but I think this is a blessing in disguise. This was not our year to begin with. We ALL said we would be thrilled with 18 wins at the beginning of this year. We are right on track for that. If Demario can’t follow team rules, I don’t care what they are, then let’s let him ride. Whoever said that Alan Major can’t coach… that has absolutely nothing to do with Demario. Major can’t follow him around and babysit. We are primed for a SOLID run at the NCAA tournament next year. If we can lock up a big man and a solid wing player in this class, next year will be special.

If basketball is such a small priority in your life that you can’t follow team or athletic department policies, then I don’t want to pay money and spend my time to go watch you play.

edit: One more thing: I personally don’t care what anybody on here thinks about smoking pot. Honestly that’s pure speculation right now, BUT, it does NOT make me a proud supporter of Charlotte 49er athletics when everywhere we go on the road they have mugshots and fake blunts flying around in the student section. Like I said, this could be a good thing. I will not be a happy fan if Demario plays the rest of the way out. Coach Major was brought to Charlotte to change a culture. Failure to let Mr. Mayfield go at this point would not be evidence of a culture change to me.

^^^^^^^^^^^^ yes!
Sokool knows some things slightly before they appear to others because mayfield and briscoe still communicate. Not really rocket science here.
This. Sucks, but how many chances can you give someone? You have 8 underclassmen on the roster, can’t let the inmates run the asylum.

Probably need to check with Sokool on the UFO activity as well that the KGB told him about at Burger King. This is Division I athletics in the 2000s. Self over team too much. He let his teammates down, as much or more so than the fans and school. The rules aren’t difficult. 99pct of athletes at Charlotte have no problem with them. Or conform like we all do each day in society to exist.

From the article:

But the 49ers might have fared better in a 82-54 loss against George Washington had Mayfield been able to come in and potentially pprovide a spark, rather than be part of a sluggish Charlotte start that quickly dissolved into a blowout defeat.

Mayfield scored 9 of our first 11 points. We would have gotten smoked much earlier in the game had he not been in the starting lineup. He’s our best and most consistent player. He needs to be starting.
AGREED … its absolutely ridiculous but so typical of Major ??? to even contemplate not starting Mayfield.

Could be some more interesting info/stories coming out about Mayfield soon, stay tuned. :-X
Sokool tried to tell us all
Exactly Joeniner … Now that its out publicly here you go. Major staff and David Scott have been pulling the wool over this fanbases eyes every since he has been here. Using the violation of athletic policy excuse has allowed MajorFail and the powers to be to be vague and cover up a number of lies and inept decisions by Major and his staff.

First Mayfield … this is DRUGS pure and simple. Failed urine tests over and over. MajorOliver has fostered and turned a blind eye to a culture of rampant Drug and Alcohol use on his teams past and present every since he has was hired. Mayfield is as much the victim here as the culprit. MajorOliver knew he needed help and kept minimizing the consequences of his violations because keeping him on the court was much more important to Major than allowing this kid to get the longterm help he needed. Now the hens have come home to roost. So much for Major’s constant BS about caring for his kids and changing the culture (YEAH RIGHT).

Next is Spears and the lies that he attacked a coach, never happened. MajorOliver chose to concoct a story to tarnish and blame Spears, suspend him and mortgage our season simply because they didn’t like the kid and hated his continued allegiance to Bobby Lutz.

Phil Jones MajorOliver fell asleep at the wheel. They had full knowledge of Phil’s academic issues early enough to save his season as they have the password to every players academic account. They stood idly by, never proactive and took a careless approach to the possibility that Jones would most likely be ineligible the second semester. Again not giving a damn about winning for this university.

MajorOliver concocted the story about the Luka having family problems and returned home to address them. BS this kid had quit the team before he ever left because of being lied to by the current staff about playing time and his role.

Briscoe,Green,KJ and now Braz all suffered mightily at the hands of a staff who deceived them, denied them a fair opportunity to compete and excel, created a culture of my guys Lutz guys with the premium being on who MajorOliver likes the best.

JB smart guy, good player, who realized early how to play the MAJOROLIVER game.

One rogue coach should not tarnish the many employees of Charlotte university who genuinely care about the young men and women who attend and represent this great university on the courts and fields. Therefore I continue to support and cheer for the university as a whole but never blind to the unscrupulous behavior of a mbb coaching staff that does not represent the integrity that this university was built on.

And BTW David Scott is Major’s puppet. He is a Major part of Major’s damage control team. David Scott has sat on intimate and factual knowledge of urine tampering and other information given to him by those closely connected to the program.

I expect the MODS to ban me as its been evident the TRUTH is not readily accepted on this board. If so here’s hoping for growth as this season continues on the court and off.
are you serious or are you just messing with us? are you really criticizing major for suspends players who breaks rules. how anybody can defend spears is beyond me. do you remember him trying to fight the fordham coaches a few years ago? do you have any evidence for anything you post? you clearly never followed lutz when you were here or you would remember some of the geniuses he brought in. deuce, kj and green didnt get an opportunity because they counldnt compete. what did kj do outside of the la salle game? how is it major and the staff’s fault that phil was ineligeble? if a kid cannot maintain a 2.0 he does not deserve to play and he was failing academically under lutz and they never did anything. you just come on here and make accusations without evidence and then wonder why you get bashed.

This is very unfortunate. I disagree that this was not our year.

Once again with feeling…

SAME AS IT EVER WAS…SAME AS IT EVER WAS…

WRONG again Sherlock. Professional or Collegiate athletes don’t make a habit of sharing private info with anyone that is even remotely connected to someone who could share such info on a public message board. Now thats really not rocket science.

I would rather win national championships…

SoKool, while I certainly don’t agree with a lot of your posts I do think there is some merit to your posts in this thread.
