We can disagree on the level of your program but if you think that MFer has any loyalty to ECU you really are delusional.
You mentioned him almost crying, lol. Reminded me of an old woman watching Jimmy Swaggert cry on TV and believe everything heās selling. Or a redneck Trumper at a rally, you decideā¦ā¦
Football coaches in general are the last people that usually want to get emotional. It seemed genuine to me, why would he fake choke up when talking about a player. Whatās he gain honestly in your televangelist comparison.
Also I think you are delusional if you think taking an interview at UNCC, agreeing to the job and then backing out in one week is the same thing as living and working in a place 3 years. Those type of relationships are harder to sever at least for a Duke IMO.
Money matters sure, but we doubled his salary from you guys from 750k to 1.5 million. Duke is paying Cutcliff 2.6 after how many years. My guess is they wouldnāt even start Houston at that. Is it really worth leaving this year for a Duke for probably less than a million more?
They arenāt doubling his salary and he secured his future in a way he hadnāt at JMU or would have at UNCC. I get being more selfish there. I think he waits for a better job where he feels sure he can win, especially if our QB comes back and while the AAC is still strong before the exits. Heās already 3rd place, 1st place could get him to a New Years day bowl.
I agree with that but heās also pretty good at getting out at the right time after heās capitalized big. Then heās jumped to the right next job before the rebuild. If the QB comes back our trajectory is still up with all the key players returning. I canāt see Duke being where heās aspiring to next.
All those other job were jumps from HS to D2, to FCS, to FBS. What canāt he honestly do at ECU before the CUSA 6 gets here, that he can at a lot of mid level P5 team? It basically owns the ND6 bowl big. Hell itās easier to make a splash nationally and get to a major bowl in the AAC than going to a mid level P5. Look at all the recent coaches in the AAC that had national success with AAC team only to leave and struggle and likely get fired soon. Frost, Fuente, Norvell, Morris, Collins etc etc.
ECU already has the potential to fill up a 50k seat stadium like many mid P5 jobs and give him more money if he does get us there. There is even still room to grow now that we keep the same AAC money until 2032. He can be a lot more picky this time if he wants.
It does actually seem like Houston wantsā to be in this area too. Heās not like Skip who grew up all over the nation and would have taken any job from UConn to Florida that was a step up. Is Houston really going to take a job outside the mid Atlantic? All his jobs have been NC/SC/Va. VT is the one he would take but I doubt heās done enough yet. Beat Cincy maybe, but after Fuentes do they want another AAC guy. Doubtful.
It would have been for Ruff if we didnāt have an idiot AD.
A lot of people think Logan was wronged to by the AD too, but I think it was time for him. He tried to make it his forever job. Youād be surprised at the amount of former coaches that actually retire here even after their careers are over. Several football and basketball coaches still around. I could actually see us getting lucky and another more successful Logan one day.
Ok WH, you puff out your chest about how ECU fills up a 45 k stadium all the time even against shitty opponents. You played the number 2 team in the nation yesterday and the stadium wasnāt even close to full. I mean not even CLOSE! Explain that to an old man pleaseā¦
I saw the same. Iām not sure the crowd (actual butts in seats) would have filled Richardson stadium. If we expand prior to AAC, our attendance will be greater than ECU.
Pretty sure this board can knock ezu anytime they want. They suck and should prob move to cusa 3.0 so they arenāt the anchors in our our new conference
We getting drug by a bad ODU team and you guys want to talk trash about a 7-5 ECU bowl team. Now I see why we suck. Fans and football team suck. As far as Healy or Houston, I donāt want either one.
