New MBB Head Coach search

No more assistants. No more training wheels. Let him learn somewhere else.

I’m ok if we have enough success in year 1 that they leave and pay our buyout. It means we were actually good which hasn’t happened in what 20 years. It also means we have that much more money to offer the next coach.

This is literally a best case scenario for us at this point.

GOOD. This place needs a winner. If our coach gets taken, that means something great happened.

The suspense is killing me. I hope we get one of the three coaches mentioned and not an assistant somewhere. We’ve been there done that.

A good sound case can be made for all 3 of the lead candidates! I bet it has been decided and we are in negotiations with an announcement tomorrow.

Nolan Smith could be an excellent choice for us, very deep ties to a great recruiting territory that has been really good to us, in particular PG County Maryland.

Wes Miller is the safest choice

What about his performance at Cincinnati makes him a safe choice??

Kevin Keatts imo.

Also, Hubert Davis is about to be available

Yeah 5 years no NCAAs is not safe.

Love them blowing a 19 point lead. Made my week

I don’t want him. Just a joke.

Also loved watching Davidson lose in the NIT. It won’t be long before they’ll be looking for a new coach.

Davidson and UNC losing made me happy. NC State losing in the First Four was the beginnings of my happiness

Wes Miller took UNC Greensboro to the NCAA’s twice and averaged over 20 games a year for 10 years there. He averaged over 20 games a year for last five years at Cincinnati in one of the toughest leagues in the country with his worst year being 18 wins. How high are your expectations?

Miller actually averaged 18.5 wins a year at UNCG.

Anyway, my expectation is wins and NCAATs.

My expectations are NIT bids

To dance. Period. He hasn’t done that in five years. Keatts went to a Final Four 2 years ago. By all metrics the objectively better hire. Momentum is everything in college basketball.

I won’t be mad about Miller, but if we hire Keatts im stroking a Green Jacket Club level check day of the announcement.

We will likely never be able to hire another coach two years removed from a final four ever again. Its a no brainer.
