Now Listening to...

Washed Out - Amor Fati

Damn, that’s the second great track from the new album. I thought these guys were a fad band… :chillwave: and all that crap. This is seriously good though.

Fatso Jetson is so, so cool. Seriously, someone start listening to them. You won’t regret it. lol

The guy making this video has the right idea, but I might recommend not watching it when you first hear it so as not to alter your initial perception. Only vid for it I could find on the web.

El Taurino - Fatso Jetson

Hip hop is not dead:
Tyler, the Creator
Earl Sandwich

For you NA:

Bon Iver - Holocene 2011.06.21

I think I like the album version better, but it’s a great song either way.

Thats my 2nd favorite track. I had it on repeat (album version) all day today.

edit - holy crap there are already a fuckton of covers of this song. It hasnt been out that long!

new Wilco track - I Might

Arctic Monkeys -Suck It and See

Complete departure from their intial sound. It isnt as dark as their last without the QOTSA production but it is still full of slower melodies. I really like.

I have to admit, Fucked Up’s new album has its moments. Try this one in the car @ max volume…

The Other Shoe - Fucked Up

If you wanna download it: http://downloads.pitchforkmedia.com/Fucked%20Up%20-%20The%20Other%20Shoe.mp3

Arcade Fire - Cars and Telephones (at Theatre Corona, Montreal 2005)

More Wilco and some album art…

The new record is called The Whole Love, which is apparently a phrase detectives use to refer to a full confession.

I like these two better than I Might. These are live tracks, so the quality isnt superb, but its listenable:

I kinda dig them. #dadrock ?

The London Souls - self titled

Just straight up rock and roll. Their new album is streaming on spinner.

Anybody checked out Spotify yet? It is getting really close to the point where actually owning music (legally or otherwise) is becoming pointless, unlimited stream of pretty much anything for free (although that may be limited to a set amount of machines, I don’t know). $4.99/month gets you unlimited streaming on any machine without ads, $9.99/month adds mobile and offline playlists.

So for $10/month you get access to pretty much anything online or off. I’m sure they don’t have deals with every record label, but this is still pretty ridiculous. Remember paying $15 to buy a CD? Now you get unlimited stream for $10.

I’ve been on it since it’s been released here in the states. The thing is so buggy it stops playing after the 5th or 6th song waiting for a commercial to play.

Hate on 311 all you want… but for a band to last long enough to get to their tenth studio album… that’s impressive.

Been listening to it all morning.

To be fair, it’s only been out 4 or 5 days now. I’m sure they’ll get the kinks worked out, really impressive what they are offering for free or with the $10/month plan.

I have nothing against 311’s music, but that is one of the worst album covers I’ve ever seen.

This isn’t necessarily a 311 thing, but it bothers me when a band puts out a really short album. 28 minutes?! That’s just above some EPs! haha.

I mean I even used to think like a 40 minute CD was a bit short, but still 28 seems a little weak. I just happened to be listening to Soundgarden when you first brought this up, and Superunknown is 70 minutes. Universal Pulse fits in the Superunknown 2 1/3 times!

30 minutes for an LP is pretty standard. 10 songs at 3 minutes each.

Yuck. Not much that I listen to is that short. Guess it’s somewhat dependent on what the band does and type of music.
