This will take longer than the search for a new head basketball coach
This is a pipe dream but what if David Tepper, private developers, and maybe the city helped us expand our stadium to 45,000 so the Panthers could have a temporary place to play while their stadium is being renovated? I’ve been seeing where the Jacksonville Jaguars are considering playing at Daytona Speedway or in Orlando while their stadium is being rebuilt. The Chargers played in a small soccer stadium temporarily before the LA Stadium was completed. Many of the regular attenders of Panthers games live near Charlotte not in South Carolina or Raleigh.
David Tepper helping us out? That’s a good one!
See, the problem is, you’re using a mixture of logic and altruism in your thought process. Tepper is all mean spirited asshole-ish greed.
Actually, the most Tepper thing to do would be to announce a big donation for stadium expansion, then back out after construction has started.
Haha you beat me to it.
clt was curious about this idea. the gophers stadium holds 50k and the vikings put in less than $10m of improvements when they played there for two years.
the WFT are proposing a 55k stadium in DC
could our 31k expansion work for one season? maybe with bigly upgrades to the locker room
Need good folks like Joe Gibbs involved rather than the “Teppers” of the world…
- PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The project is for advance planning for the expansion and renovation of Jerry Richardson Stadium.
The project will encompass a phased expansion of Jerry Richardson Stadium to include the addition of a four-story tower on the west side of the venue, as well as seating growth on both the east and west sides of the stadium. The tower would include large plaza and mezzanine donor/team spaces, as well as a dedicated suite level and a game operations level, to include coaches’ boxes, working media, TV and radio spaces, as well as separate Chancellor and Athletic Director’s suites. Seating would expand on both sides of the stadium, increasing capacity from just over 15,300 to over 30,600, effectively doubling the capacity of the venue
clt says 31k is perfect
Is that RFQ new? (So used to them being called RFPs).
Also, I still think we need a team store.
- EXPECTATIONS OF THE DESIGNER
- Demonstrated experience designing facilities for power 5 level of football and past experience on large college athletic projects.
It’s fucking insane and I’m sick and tired of them not being held accountable.
Nice catch!
I hope they know the best place to put the new burrito stand. I would prefer somewhere close to Section 104
Agreed, that is the perfect size for us.
Anyone got any updates/pics of the “new” Scoreboard / Video board at JRS?
Pictures pulled from a video on Twitter show the old board has been removed.

Gonna be a killer upgrade.
