Official Stadium Construction Thread 🏟

I want to recommend this before it is too late. You guys who are taking all these pictures, I suggest you pick a spot and always take a pic from there. Basically do the job of our slack ass webcam. Perhaps a shot from between EPIC and Duke or from the top of the steps at Duke. Then later on you can put them all together for a time lapse.

I realize it’s just digging and deforestation, but even this is cool to me. Would be really cool to have a shot of trees and all and then BOOM trees gone, practice fields, stadium up, football ops building.

Good idea…ill remember that next time i take pics

Only issue with that is that the fence keeps moving. I’ll try, but the webcam should be up Monday per Charlotte49ers on Facebook.

I doubt you would be unable to get to the top of the Duke steps. But if the webcam does go up, I guess it’s not as big of a deal. However, if they aren’t doing a time lapse already, it’d be cool for yall to, but I think I heard they did plan to do a time lapse.

They ought to get that big sucker of a rock and put it to the side and later clean it up and use it in some sort of NINER/gold miner display at the stadium entrance with a plaque telling its history of being pulled up during construction, etc.

As for the pix, they’re great. i thought I was the only one who got off on this sort of stuff. I was also similarly obsessed watching the construction of Halton, BofA Stadium, and the Coliseum on Tyvola. :stuck_out_tongue:

I was thinking in a similar way. Do something with the rocks. When I read what you wrote, I thought of maybe painting the rocks gold and piling them up or something, like big gold nuggets or a single giant nugget.

AHAHAHAHAH! Bevis just said “you said ‘big gold nuggets or a single giant nugget’!” Pay him no mind. I like the idea of a giant gold nugget that fans can touch on the way in. Like the rock, but bigger, that’s near Barnhardt.

RT @Charlotte49ers:

Surveying the stadium site with coach lambert and tim Baier, news 14. http://t.co/L0Juy0u

Headed to stadium site to meet tim baier, news 14. Check out the progress with coach lambert. http://t.co/b5E3syK

Looks like Coach’s hair may not be on fire but his face is burnt. Hopefully a sign he’s hitting the summer camp circuit hard.

Thats color coordination. The pants match the road, the shirt the grass and the face the brick veneer in the background. Thank God he omitted the powder blue.

Like his face is on fire.

Nice video tour from Coach Lambert.

That’s great. Hats off to the News 14 folks for this and all the coverage they give us. Out of town folks should definitely watch this video.

When the vertical construction starts, I think it’s really going to start to hit people how real this thing is. 15,000 seats is not a large stadium, but it’s still a sizable structure. It’s going to be impressive.

Hmm, this seems to be a stadium construction webcam on Grigg…

NA, do you have a wallpaper of the stadium image above? I made one of the 40,000 seat version, but that’s the best image I’ve seen of the 15k-20k seat version. Might put that on one of computer screens until the 40,000 seat version becomes a reality.

I stole that from 49erFootballNow. Ask the man, he probably has it.

I agree, it’s a good picture.

There was movement a few years back for a spirit rock… could be used for that

Thanks.

49FN, you got a copy of that image in wallpaper size?

We seriously need a giant gold nugget… it’s a no-brainer.
