Official Stadium Construction Thread 🏟

Im sure there is a timeline floating around somewhere but could someone point me to it…a timeline as in: Fieldhouse expected to be complete on this date, practice fields on this date…etc

Hmm, this seems to be a stadium construction webcam on Grigg…

this post needs a link :/
Sonofa… here ya go http://twitpic.com/5cqn1b

That camera has been up there a while. Not sure if its the one we’ll use as a stadium cam but I know its not real “new”.

Here’s the biggest image I had:

What happened to video embedding on this site?

Drove by The Site this AM and they were movin’ dirt and dust was a’flyin’. Saw a lot of construction activity on that side of campus. Made…my…day (sniff).

They had sections of concrete storm (sewer?) drain pipe laid out on the ground tonight.

I saw that too. Gotta get those in or we’ll have a lake out there to play in.

Hey, isn’t today (June 20th) the day the stadium webcam was supposed to be up and running?

Sadly, the Facebook page announcement said the WEEK OF the 20th, so between now and Friday…

The fencing around the site took quite a beating from Saturday’s wind storm. Hope they don’t use that as an excuse to delay putting up the camera.

Some I took this weekend from between Duke and Grigg.

Here is the rendering from the same view for reference.

That’s a neat comparison, Mr. Bojangles. I didn’t notice the background in the rendering is from an actual photograph. The trees match up exactly and you can see they 'shopped the highrises out. Looks like the Dalton Tower (Atkins) would be right behind the scoreboard. I wonder if they’ll have the highrises covered with a brick facade by 2013… probably not.

Great news! We’ll be rocking 1990’s tech on our picture phone cam! They’re basically going to put the EPIC camera up for the stadium. Considering that other schools are putting up live camera’s for their field turf replacements I consider this to be below the standard we should set.

Great view. It got me wondering: is there any concern that one could watch a game without actually going into the stadium (and buying a tic)?

You shouldn’t be able to see the playing field from EPIC. You might be able to see the whole field from the top floors of Grigg and Duke but I imagine they’ll close those buildings for gameday.

to be fair, the EPIC webcam/website was similar to what Chapel Hill used for their expansion.

also, App’s camera of the field was actually a weather camera that they pointed at the stadium for a while. days later it was turned around to somewhere else.

That’s awesome, thanks!! Can’t even tell it was 3 pics.

Some from today.

Almost all of the upper field is gone now.
