Isnt Gregg Marshall getting paid about a million per year at Wich St? If so, why would he even come here? If we wanted him, should have jumped on that boat a few years ago, think its too late now.

Unless it’s a gag list, Dalonte needs to be taken off.
Marshall supposedly had interest in the Charlotte gig a few years ago, so it wouldn’t surprise me if he was among those interviewed (setting accounting matters aside).
My understanding was Marshall was to receive $750,000 from Wichita State. That’s a lot of money for us considering we’d also have to buy him out from WSU unless there was some stipulations in his contract. I could see him interested only in that he’s got presumably strong local ties. Personally though I think that ship has already said, and a pity at that. I’ve long been a fan.

Something to note here … an NCAA appearance is worth somewhere around 800K, think of how much money not making the tourney is costing us. Also, think of how much easier it is to pay these insane salaries when the tourney birth comes with such a large check.

Maybe, but who knows? Until this morning, the conventional wisdom was that we couldnt pay out Lutz’ contract.
If we go the route of them having Northeast/A10 ties we need to make sure the 2 asst have NC ties and Metro Atlanta AAU ties would be huge too.
If I hear Doherty one more time, I’m going to cut someone. Taking a Tar Heel team to 8-20 after an NCAA appearance is unacceptable. He took a great team to shit and I don’t want to see how low he can take this team.
I don’t want a HC that has been fired 2 or 3 times already. They’re proven losers. We need an assistant from a good program that could bring enthusiasm, and they’d be more inclined to accept the offer.
My vote goes for Dalonte, Wojo, or Dooley. Of course all of these would require a hefty paycheck.
Fran McCaffery is a little bit old to be rebuilding at a school like Charlotte. I’d guess he’s waiting for his final job where he thinks he can retire from. But if he has NC connections, it never hurts to ask.
