Geno Auriemma

It really might happen.

Winning cures all.
It shouldn’t happen. We should never forgive or forget the backstabbing, IMO.
You want to win or do you want to be petty? If you want talent and defense, Hill will bring that.

A lot of sports is about second chances. I mean we welcomed back Moxley with open arms after he delivered Vasquez to Maryland…It is a business so I have no problem with what either of them did, especially if it put them in a better position professionally.
Agreed. If Hill can come in here and win, I’d be more than willing to forgive him for the Beasley incident.
What is this “Beasley incident” that you speak of?
Its going to be super interesting because of Judy

Flame on me all you care, but her name is not gold in the circle of mens hoops/coaching. The industry knows how she handles mens coaches.

No alpha male will work under her for basketball IMHO. The planes, the schedules, the TV, the radio, the marketing, etc. So many things are romper room. A legit coach will laugh her out of the building on many specific items that we don’t do.

I think we end up with someone that is young and from a smaller school. I don’t see a BCS asst happy here. He will be frustrated quickly.
brad stevens, hc at butler. i know he’d be leaving a top 15 team, but if we could land him, that’d fit what your lookin’ at.

looking at his resume, its highly unlikely we’d get him, just throwing out a name that i didn’t see.

Rick Pitino … John Chaney … Mike Anderson … Phil Martelli … John Calipari … Rick Majerus … Tom Crean … Sean Miller … Bob Huggins …

So you wanna compete for the ncaa tournament? Move up to a better conference? Don’t forget to maintain some perspective.

If someone looks in the mirror and sees the next great college basketball coach, they won’t work for peanuts. Drop the, “oh, woe is us” routine. There isn’t another team in the A10 that wouldn’t pay for the people we’ve mentioned.

I like the idea of Butch Pierre

Chances of landing Bobby Knight are 0.001% - 0.01%, but it’s worth a phone call, right? What do we have to lose?

I wonder how and where St. Louis finds the budget to get a Rick Majerus. He’s making about 1 million a year plus the buyout from Soderberg’s contract for God knows what else is owed to him.

Rich, private, catholic school with a rabid fanbase.
Fran McCaffery is a little bit old to be rebuilding at a school like Charlotte.
Yep, he’s over the hill at 50 years old. Better scratch off Marshall too since he’s in his late 40s. Sorta makes you wonder what Temple was thinking when they hired a 57 year old in 2006 to rebuild that once proud program!
Steve Donahue
Ben Jacobson
Joe Dooley
Brad Bownell
Mike Rice
Fan McCaffery
Pat Kelsey
Tom Herrion
Butch Pierre
Gregg Marshall
Wojo
Could you add where they are currently coaching at? I’m not very smart. Also, please add Michael Jordan. Doesn’t his kid need PT?

How about Dell Curry? What’s Mugsy Bogues doing now?

I definitely don’t expect a hire to be made until all of our candidates have completed postseason play.

We won’t contact anybody that has basketball left to be played, and we won’t hire anybody until we have talked to everybody that we want to.

Sit back, guys, it will likely be a month before we get anything more than rumors.

Steve Donahue Cornell HC
Ben Jacobson UNI HC
Joe Dooley Kansas assistant
Brad Bownell Wright State HC, former UNCW HC
Mike Rice Robert Morris HC
Fan McCaffery Sienna
Pat Kelsey Xavier Associate HC
Tom Herrion Associate HC, Pitt
Butch Pierre asst at Oklahoma State and former LSU interim HC
Gregg Marshall Wichita State, former Winthrop HC
Wojo

I guess he has a lot of disposable income.

I bet we start reaching out fast. Other teams playing shouldn’t impact us one bit. Strike fast

If we hire Brownell, it’ll happen soon. Anybody else worth a damn still has a job to do.

I’m seeing Dooley’s name thrown around a lot. Could be an interesting hire, but he is a GW alum.

Dooley is a 1988 graduate of George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where he completed his bachelor's degree in speech communications. A four-year letterwinner in basketball at George Washington, he started his last two seasons and was elected a team captain as a senior.

apologies if it has been mentioned, but ECU has offered Dooley
