Dooley is a 1988 graduate of George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where he completed his bachelor's degree in speech communications. A four-year letterwinner in basketball at George Washington, he started his last two seasons and was elected a team captain as a senior.

apologies if it has been mentioned, but ECU has offered Dooley
Oh, is that final? I heard that they were close to working out a deal, but something happened and the negotiations broke down.
Dooley hasn’t signed at ECU. Doesn’t appear he will.
Lutz becomes an instant candidate for ECU, if he’s interested. I think Holland would hire him in a heartbeat.
lol… just a statement. i know we have a lot of people on here that hate gw.

Gregg Marshall makes 2x what Lutz did, why would mention him?
you think he would take 1/2 to come back to CLT?
Wichita is a crappy place to live, but I don’t get the mention of him
What kind of coaches does Xavier usually hire? Seems like they’re hiring every other year and it always works out for them.

I was just thinking the exact same thing.
I definitely don’t expect a hire to be made until all of our candidates have completed postseason play.
We won’t contact anybody that has basketball left to be played, and we won’t hire anybody until we have talked to everybody that we want to.
Sit back, guys, it will likely be a month before we get anything more than rumors.

Fran McCaffery is a little bit old to be rebuilding at a school like Charlotte.
Yep, he’s over the hill at 50 years old. Better scratch off Marshall too since he’s in his late 40s. Sorta makes you wonder what Temple was thinking when they hired a 57 year old in 2006 to rebuild that once proud program!
Hey, easy now, meant no offense. I didn’t say he was too old period! I just said he was probably looking for his job to retire from. If he’s really making ~ $700,000 per year, that’s plenty to sit and wait for the dream job to come along (which I have no reason to believe is Charlotte, but maybe not?). If he was younger, I might see him take on another challenge as an easier step up to the elite jobs, but if he undertakes the Charlotte job, it’s risking a lot without much time to start over if it falls flat.
And I could see Dunphy retiring from Temple.
The list makes it seem that nobody is out of bounds so here is my out-of-left field candidate.
Nolan Richardson
He is crazy as a loon, he would change our program from 2 months of hell to 40 minutes of hell, he coaches in the WNBA now so he would take the job for about $25,000, he was a winner. Did I mention that he is crazy as a loon?
I just vomited everywhere…

With what went down recently, it’s not out of the question or the realm of possibility.
If Marshall really loves the Charlotte area and coveted the HC job here, I’m sure he’d consider it and (they would) make it work somehow.
How much did Moxley make?? I would imagine a decent amount… so add his assoc HC salary to Lutz’s and what does that give us???
It just seems to me if a Booster wrote the check to usher Lutz out they would have also discussed the potential replacements and the costs associated.

I would say Brownell is worth contacting, and his season is over. (unless they go CBI or CIT)

I think it is safe to say a high dollar HC will want well paid Assistants

I would expect that but I have no idea what Mox was making and what qualifies as a highly paid asst. It was an honest question.
I heard on the radio that the guy from Kansas {Doley?} was ready to sign a contract at ECU and backed out of it at the last minute.
