I don’t think you finish with the record Virginia had in the ACC if you give up a lot of open threes. The UMBC game was a perfect storm of anything & everything going wrong. Virginia had also lost one of their best scorers & the ACC sixth man of the year to injury a few days before that game. If they win that game & go deeper in the tournament a lot of the naysayers would be very happy with this hire. If we have the team Virginia had this past year we would have dominated Conference USA. I would be happy very happy with a 31 & 3 season. I know that’s not going to happen overnight but it is possible with this system.

Maybe not my best attempt at English. Just saying Virginia would have dominated conference USA this past season. They do it without a team full of 4 & 5 star recruits so it’s not like we can’t eventually do the same here with the Virginia system.

We aren’t going to bring in a high number of ACC level recruits.
UVA brought in the right recruits to build a program.
Virginia currently has the 78th-ranked class.
Last year they had the 98th-ranked class.
In 2016 it was highly regarded, but in 2015 it was ranked 62nd.
That’s about identifying the right players for your team and succeeding.

Only example would be his last Associate Head Coach, Ritchie McKay, who went back to Liberty. A little different in that he was a head coach before.
Took over a 8-24 (2-16) team. Went 13-19 (10-8) his first season, then 21 wins the last 2 seasons.
Sanchez was on the David Glenn Show yesterday, fast forward to the 29:30 mark.

Convinced the first interview on ESPN730 was kind of a nervous fluke. The next two interviews with Sanchez, including this one, have been really good, loose, entertaining. Really more and more impressed with him every time I hear him.
