SEC expansion influence in NC
I don’t see a reason why that if the CUSA needed teams, we wouldn’t be one of the first schools they called. What other schools would fit the profile with FBS intentions and a good market? Maybe ODU? App has the best shot out of the SoCon, but still not very good. I don’t think anyone in the Big Sout, Sun Belt or Atlantic Sun are in position.

If the CUSA needs to make calls, we’re on the list, and we’re going to say yes.
Temple would be their #1 choice.

A&M plus the 2 OK schools stayed in B12 when UT stayed, & let UT have it’s own network to be happy, then theaten to leave because UT did what they told UT they could do. Regardless of what one thinks of the UT network, A&M & the 2 OK’s agreed to it.

They dont have to be in the same conference as UT to play them. Clemson-South Carolina, Georgia-GT, ND-Michigan, Florida-FSU, Army-Navy are all examples of out of conference rivalry games.
I’m sure Texas is really going to reach out to them after A&M tries to screw them over by leaving the Big XII. “Since you f’d up our conference, let’s play a non-conference game next season or the season after that”. Yeah, makes sense.
Well, to be fair, A&M could say “No, you started killing the conference by having a TV network”. Not to mention Nebraska and Colorado leaving.
Yes, but the other members agreed to let Texas have their own network. Texas gave the other members an ultimatum, and the remaining nine members caved. Maybe this was A&M’s master plan all along: to give Texas all of their greedy demands to keep them in the Big XII, and then screw them by bolting for another conference.

don’t forget the Big East is going to lose 1 or 2 teams in this.

Any chance BC goes back to the BE?

Raise your hand if you think Texas A&M will ever win the SEC West in football. Keep in mind that they have not been in the Big XII title game since 1998. If they thought getting by Texas and Oklahoma was tough, now they have to beat Alabama, Auburn, LSU, and Arkansas just to get to the SEC Championship game. If the goal is to win the fictitious national championship, then moving to a conference (and Division) where it will be highly unlikely for them to ever go undefeated makes no sense. Their road is not easy now, but if their program continues to be as bad as it has been the last 10 seasons they will do good to win 5 games each season.

If an ACC school leaves for the SEC I think you could see Syracuse or UConn bolt for the ACC. The Big East would then have to grab up another team possibly Temple, UCF, Memphis, or Houston.

The Big East grabbed a 9th school so they could have 8 conference games. They don’t have to replace 1 school but the probably will.

What does winning have to do with modern BCS football? So long as the checks cash at the bank A&M’s leaders will be happy.

If the SEC goes to 16 teams it almost doesn’t matter what the Big East does.

High ranking source at Texas A&M confirms, going to SEC.Clemson,FSU,Missouri likely to join.

YES. Also, Mississippi State was also better than Texas A&M last year and with coach Mullen we are only getting better. This is not an easy road for A&M.

Aggies did beat both Big XII title game participants in College Station (Nebraska and Oklahoma), and are ranked in the Top 10 going into this season. They couldn’t pick a better time to be on their way to the SEC.

Lol. They “agreed” so that Texas wouldn’t leave for the PAC10. They also agreed before knowing how much the TV contract was for. A&M is no more guilty, and IMO less guilty, than Nebraska, Colorado or UT.

No better place for this than here:

Well, sure, but the SEC was talking to A&M at that time and the Aggies could have left then if they had wanted to. Why beg somebody to stay if you’re only going to leave them later, and for the some conference that you could have had then? Totally spiteful move by A&M, but that’s what that rivalry has come to.

So, Texas and who else to the Pac 12?

At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Texas become independent.

SEC has not discussed the 14th team per this.

I would like to see the Big East lose several teams and we get invited to play basketball with them. It is going to be several years before our fottball team is ready to step up into 1A.

Sounds like Texas has too much $ tied up in the Longhorn Network to leave. I heard on the radio that the $300 deal is voided if they leave. What if TCU gets swayed from the Big East? Seems viable.
