Might be for the best.
Yes, but life with sokool means trudging through threads with fifty-plus replies to find the three worth reading.
Different opinions are welcome. Trolling is not. Off with his head.

The board does have an ignore user function, if that helps. Click on Profile, under Modify Profile section, click on Buddies/Ignore List, the click on Edit Ignore List.

Losers follow people on Twitter. Utter? Braz’ sister? Good lord people.
I thought Utter offended a bunch of people on here years ago?
No, he was just so heavy he broke the shoutbox.
It’s upsetting how many people don’t know the difference between trolling and “just having a different opinion.” That being said, if this many people want to read and attempt to seriously debate such an individual, I think they should be allowed. This is America, and even the KKK have a right to express their asinine opinions; and likewise, the citizenry have a right to agree with the KKK or attempt to reasonably diffuse the KKK’s opinions.
Besides, it’s not like sokool is alone in trolling our board and the corrosive manor in which he carries himself.
He is annoying but I think he should have a voice. Just my opinion. Otherwise it keeps people like survivor away who are seemingly convinced that if you say anything negative about Major you get shushed.
Maybe the line can be drawn on transfer rumors?
SoKool did not start out as a troll. Though now he is the worst troll. Starting rumors of transfers is as bad as it gets.
He started out providing info about Briscoe and had a positive attitude.
Now he is a terrorist. He will blow up any shit just because he is angry.
I don’t have any friends on this board but I do support the team. I wouldn’t want to do anything to hurt the program, but I don’t care about this board. Some things strike me as very immature (not that I’m the most mature person) but green-tinted glasses and poster of the year are just in-jokes and chamber of commerce stuff. it’s fun for you but disgusts others.
I don’t know who you really are (pretty sure that’s not your first sn), but this message board is where football started. As juvenile as people want to make the internet out to be, this is an important medium for Niner Nation. Without this, a lot of things wouldn’t be as coordinated and our already struggling student, alumni, and fan base would be even further disjointed.
I know some folks are still too cool to buy into the internet, but this place matters.

Do you want to know my real name or my address?
I don’t think the Internet is immature. Just many people on this board who are regulars. They should be less mature than I am since I’m twenty years older than some of them.
As to this board and football. The school is definitely getting football. Whether this board had a lot to do with it is debatable. This is actually my main problem with this board. People’s self-importance. If this board vanished today nothing of any significance would change.
People here have moved from fans to those who think they shake the world.
The Internet is just another tool of politics. Things happened before the Internet. Believe me I was actually there.
I get a lot of what you are saying, but if there was no NinerNation.net there would have been no CFI, which means no SGA vote on football. If you think that wasn’t a significant cause for the start of football at UNC Charlotte then you plain don’t know shit about the start of Charlotte 49ers Football.

Look, buddy, cool it. I’m just talking here.
I’m going to forgo the maturity comments as that is kind of another conversation altogether.
If you are unaware of the role this board played in the football campaign, then that is that. But I assure you, without question, if it weren’t for this board, we would not be getting a football team. This isn’t about self importance. If you want to look up to us or something that’s cool, but I’m just telling you what happened.
Yea, if the board vanished today, nothing of significance would change. We already got the football team. It’s already in the hands of the public figures and the $ has been ponied up. Also, significance is relative and you can’t say what other activities (roadtrips, tailgates, lunches, etc.) would not take place if there were no central meeting place.
The internet, just like every other great social medium, can be “just a tool” of whatever. Politics, love, porn. Sweeping generalizations generally are a load of horseshit.
OK buddy.
There was tailgating and even sex before the Internet.
Actually I felt some pity for younger people because college was a lot more fun in the early 1980s. It slowly got less fun from 1983-89 as I got an M.A. not because I screwed around for six years to get a B.A. The early 80s were a blast.
I just don’t really know what you are defending. This board? Or the Internet as a social tool?

Oh, ok, nevermind. Didn’t realize you were like that.
And yea, I bet the 80s were better. Most things were downhill after about ~'94.
sokool hasnt been banned. I told him to stop trolling.

Man what is the deal with people?
We seriously need to get better fast because all this s*** about board regulars and the board and importance is stupid. It is just a f’n messageboard. All the troll talk has gone overboard. The easiest thing to do with people you think are trolls is to ignore them - stop calling them trolls and posting pictures of trolls, just let it be. If people get together off the board, big deal that is what friends do. If you are pissed about that come hang out when people are meeting. Not once have we said the only people that come tailgate is a certain group. Or NNN lunch is only for a certain group. I mean oh hell most of us are in Halton arena for a basketball game what a bunch of assholes! I just don’t complaining about stuff like that when EVERYONE is invited. Not our fault of all the people that complain sit at home and complain.
As for the board and football - there is a reason why we didn’t get football until this board got rolling. Just let that sink in. We didn’t get football because of the board. However the people that met and mobilized would not have been able to do so without this board.
Just calm the hell down.
It’s not “debatable”, it’s documented fact. The original organizational posts here on NNN are still around (save for database purge). The CFI meeting sign-in sheets? They’re still around too. And the newspaper articles and photos and…
Now, what I DO find amusing is not those of us who feel “self important” for taking part in the CFI movement - it’s Johnny-come-latelys who try and detract from what was accomplished because, for whatever reason, they didn’t take part in the movement before it had its own legs. I can only imagine it sucks missing out on that unique experience! Wah!
