It was an epilogue episode. I think it played weird to wait a week to watch it. It would have worked better attached to last weekās episode.
I had three issues:
-
the reveal - that was never revealed in the books
-
Lyonel pissing⦠donāt get me wrong, that scene is actually WAY more important than almost anyone realizes, but the pissing part was more silliness that wasnāt in the books
-
Maeker in the last scene. Thatās also not how the books went down.
Still very good, but whether the decisions above work well ā- we arenāt going to know for a year or more.
Feel like talking some spoilers if anyone is interested.
Some of what they added gave good character motivations. Especially that conversation with Dearon and what Egg did next.

This was new to the story, and personally, I liked it. It also hints at a dark side for Egg, and proves Daerionās point that the royal court will ruin Egg the way it did his brother (Brightflame). I think Dunk sees this and therefore changes his mind about taking him on again, but only on the road with him.
This was potentially excellent, but is this what Daerion was describing?
There was also another future vision of Dunk & Egg from a woman at the tournament. Itās future spoilery to discuss, but it upset Egg in the show.
Also - real one Raymun Fossoway:

Also has an illegitimate kid that he thinks is his. Going into the cider brewing business. And bought back his buddyās pawned ride but gets to keep it.
Lol perfect! ![]()
Thinking this might have been a dig at GRRM:

I loved every corny bit of the Beesbury shtick.
Iām thinking I need to read the books. I didnāt really get into House of the Dragon. Not sure why, the first few episodes were a little difficult to enjoy.
HOTD season 1 was grim and joyless.
HOTD season 2 was cheeks. Total letdown.
The Hedge Knight books are beach level reads - very easy and enjoyable to digest. I love them. Love the pacing and the writing style. Total page turners. Youāll finish them before you realize it.
The graphic novels are pretty good too.

Love this. I noticed a lot of it while I was watching, but this is really well done.

Those are fantastic numbers. HOTD was averaging around 8 million viewers per episode.

Any guesses how much this is gonna cost?

If that means HBO can keep making excellent shows, Iām down.
Iām catching up on shows I missed while the kids were younger. I recently watch True Detective season one and it was as good as what lots of people said it was. My question is are any of the other seasons any good?
Not really. I bailed out during 2. I think folks said one of the other ones was okay, but it never got as good as that first season. The chemistry between MM and WH was magic. So was that one scene with Alexandra Daddario.

I too thought seasons 2 and 3 were difficult to stay interested. Though season 4 did bring me back. Maybe not as good as S1, but good none the less.
Season 4 is the only one Iāve seen and I thought it was good.
Iāll check out season 4 and skip seasons 2 & 3. Thanks for the advice! ![]()
My wife and I just finished Task on HBO. Great series!
I just ran across Banshee on HBO Max. Iām going to see this one through, especially after finishing up the 3rd episode. That MMA fight was outstanding.
Havenāt watched it myself, but it was made in the charlotte area.
Yes it was. I was an extra in several episodes. I was in the first episode at the bar when the lead actor banged the bar maid.
