Yup. Wake hired Tyler Lewis’ coach at Forsyth Country Day in Lewisville. I’d say its fair to say that the Lewises are strongly considering Wake now.

Lewis now has scholarship offers from the Charlotte 49ers, Auburn and Virginia Tech, plus a former high school coach on Wake Forest's staff.
I wouldn't say that this makes it a slam dunk for Tyler to attend Wake if offered, but it does have a big impact," Rick Lewis, Tyler's father, wrote in an e-mail. "As I told Rusty many times, we basically selected FCDS because of him.

Larue(new asst coach) went to my high school and was a freak white athlete lol. Ive been waiting for him to move up the ranks in coaching. He WILL be a head coach one day, count on that.

However, I also read somewhere that Lewis may be transferring from Forsyth Country Day to Charlotte Christian. So dont put too much into his coach being hired.

A poster in the Pick over at NR says that the Niners “are in the drivers seat, with VA Tech second.”

I hope he’s right!

Hopefully true, kid sounds like he could be a great one. Winning helps too. Have a few good seasons and it will make it so much easier to land talent.

It’s a good sign when we are the front runner and the BCS schools have already come calling.

It helps when big brother has joined the Niners!

VA Tech is the new Clemson.

This is an often overlooked point. A lot of people think that these kids are just interested in which team can help them get to the NBA, but it is very important to many of these kids that they have a chance to play for something worthwhile (conference & tournament championships).

Yeah, it’s hard to get national attention when your team can’t win a game.

True but at least we showed up for our one game on ESPN.

Good shooter and passer but he’s pretty small at 5-7/5-8 (16 yrs old, a reclassed sophomore) and not really athletic. Athletic guards give him problems, especially on the defensive side of the ball. He’ll play somewhere.
