Funny listening to Cincy sportswriter Neil Meyer talk about the Bearcat issues this season - turnovers, inability to finish games, home loss to OOC Q4, injuries, etc. Where have I heard that before?
let’s be optimistic and positive for a refreshing change on this forum

Wednesday presser is at 3pm.
I’m happy we finally went after a guy that has been in charge before. He did pretty well at UNCG after he got his footing and while he didn’t live up to expectations at Cinci, it’s not like he flopped hard and fell on his face.
I’m optimistic he can do well in the American with proper NIL resources.
In his previous two seasons in the American, finished 8th (7-11) in 2022 and 4th (11-7) in 2023. Of course, AC a bit different since then.
You failed to mention he won 18 games and 23 games those two years overall. And went to the NIT when the American conference. was very strong with Houston, Central Florida, etc.. that’s all I’m going to say. I’m not going to be sucked into negativity with you nitpicking a positive hire.
Not sure what the issue was with James this season. He was actually booted from the team last summer, only to be reinstated in mid-Decenber. FWIW, Bearcats were 5-4 at that point.
Reed doesn’t sugarcoat anything.
He’s not ready for the next level. He needs another year getting plenty of reps.
He can get that here if he’s smart.
some of our fans don’ deserve a good coach. They would complain if we went to the NCAA every year that we didn’t win the championship. obviously they didn’t read my post about being optimistic and not being so negative on this site. They will prove my point and identify themselves by attacking me for calling them out
Who is complaining?
I am not, I like the hire. My issue is the same when Fearne was hired as full time coach. We didn’t see what else was out there. We were basically blackmailed into hiring him. This current hire came I think 6 days after the position came open, meaning in my eyes White had this plan in place right when he accepted the job. This could have very well been the best hire we could have made, but we never will know who else would have been interested. But again, I like the hire.
They get it.
I see what you are saying but the opposite can happen too. Take too long and lose your top candidate. I really like the hire and am happy we got this done efficiently. I also like the new donors that are taking interest in the program. Kevin White has my attention in a good way. Time will tell if we made the right decision. Right now I feel good and just made my annual donation. Go Niners!
Agree with the Fearne hire. If I remember correctly, we could’ve brought in Ben McCollum, and we decided against that. Iowa is enjoying that hire right now. I like this hire that we just made. I feel like we didn’t piss into the wind with this one. I’m going to stay positive and hope that he can do what I think he can do with our program. Also, I like when a previously successful coach has something to prove. GO NINERS!!
McCullough was never coming here. Byington, though…
What’s the back story of this NINER themed Miller beer?
No back story. Created it with AI for the occasion
