I mean if the story that Hill tweeted the info about healy being fired before letting the guy know was true its not a good look. it very important to let the guy know he to let go before letting the world know he got the axe. but that only if thats true though.
anyway I highly doubt we could get rhule but if he was an option there is no way we pass that up. baylors reputation is strong enough nationally that if kids in nc would know what he did there and want to sign up for that.
the timing of the firing is also questionable since I usually like it if its done at the end of the season. but its possible hill wanted to make a statement and he already knows who he wants to go after. and he just want to get that guy signed and done with no so there is no risk of us losing the guy to a bigger program that might try to come in later could pose an issue.
anyway I was really hoping that healy would have worked out because I liked the guy from what I saw in the stands but it was the right call at this point. hopefully sanchez can actually have a strong winning program this season because I don’t think we can afford two major coaching fires at this time.
Why’s everyone so concerned about Healy’s feelings? As was already stated by an erudite member of this forum, he’s a media savant. These types seem to always fail forward.
It’s not about his feelings as much as it is highly unprofessional and disrespectful to both the staff and the players.

Well hopefully we will know soon what happened. Until then, I’m not speculating and now only care about moving forward. None of us know what exactly happened, so until then, let’s wait for concrete info. It is what it is and there are no take-backsies. Let’s get through the remainder of the trainwreck season and hope that the stars align with a new coach and assistants.

basically this. the school needs to look professional. and letting a coach know he’s getting fired before announcing it to everyone else is very important in looking like a professionally well run department. you see way bigger programs get roasted for amateur stuff like this when it happens.

I know it doesn’t look great and if there is a leak find it and fix it.
Maybe I’m different but if getting canned I wouldn’t really give a crap about how I find out. Tell what you want, make the payable to me and I’ll get on with things. That big ole check would soothe any hurt feeling I might have.
Right but a change like this impacts more than just the coach. It impacts the rest of the staff and possibly a huge impact on some of the players.

Presser I think just finished up. I’m a little preoccupied at the moment.
From what I saw it was pretty straightforward. No real surprises.

I would by lying to say I didn’t enjoy the hell out of the game (we needed that like we need air), but I think you have a lot to look forward to as a program. Moving to the AAC and expanding the stadium - I would also be lying if I said I wasn’t a bit jealous.
After Butch left, we hemorrhaged into the transfer portal. Preventing that will be a task, but with the right hire you’ll be back on track in no time.

Honestly, I enjoy having non belligerent fans from other teams on our board, and the perspective is nice too.
Also, you should feel good about Saturday. Your guys kicked our teeth in. I hated it. But it was just a good old fashioned ass whooping.
If you guys can finish strong, you might even play your way into a bowl slot. Which would be a heck of an outcome for a rebuilding season. I think you guys have effectively replaced us and our preseason borderline (5-7 or 6-6) projections.

Mike Hill said that it is unfortunate that Will Healy had to find out of his dismissal via social media. They did not intend on that information getting out prior to meeting with him. Mike confirmed that he did tell Healy about 8 am that they would be meeting at 10 am.
